Thank you for the memorable 2024, 10- 3 season with many bright spots and making the inaugural extended playoff.

Thanks Coach, hope you get a pay raise and extension. The 1,000 lunatic fringe probably want you fired. The rest of us reasonable fans who actually know football, remember just a short time ago that Vol football was among the worst in college football.

Making the playoffs with a Freshman QB, lots of deficiencies at WR, tons of youth at linebacker and the secondary, is very remarkable.

You all can learn a lot from this ass kickin tonight. Bring in depth at your deficient positions and grow from this. I'm confident this will happen.

There will be a lot of maturity coming into next season. This team gutted out some good wins and had a couple of disastrous road games.

Yeah, I refuse to be a program like Ohio State that gets ticked off at continual Top 5 finishes and 10+ win seasons and consecutive playoff appearances.

The fact is, many of us remember what it was like during the Dooley/Jones/Pruitt years. How we couldn't feel confident going into a game against Georgia State or anyone really. How we failed to develop talent. How we continually showed up unprepared. How we had constant off the field issues.

Many of us remember the chaos of what seemed like yearly coaching searches, and plane tracking and Grumors. The endless skepticism and speculation over who we would hire and the Googling of who we did hire.

In 4 seasons, Coach Heupel has beaten Florida twice, beaten Alabama twice. He has taken us to the playoffs. He has landed many 5* recruits. He has sent several players to the league. AND he has kept our University's name out of the headlines with off the field negative issues. Think about it, how many times have we had players in trouble off the field, compared to what we used to have? Nukeese, Janzen, Da'Rick, the list goes on and on.

No, we aren't going to win the National Championship this year. But go back to January 27th, 2021 when Heup was hired, and tell me that ANYBODY saw us doing what we're doing today. Many of us hated the hire.

This is a tough game. The transfer portal, NIL, all of those things have made it even harder. Heup is building our program back the right way. Does he have to make changes? Yes. But this was his first time in the CFP as a coach too. I guarantee you he knows (or will very soon) where he needs to improve, and where this roster and coaching staff has to improve.

While this one stung, and I wish we would have looked better to finish the year, when you get to the playoffs, only one team gets to finish the season with a win, and that's the team holding the trophy at the end. I'm glad we got to be there. I am thankful that we were on the field while Bama was on the couch. I really think Ohio State could win the whole dang thing if they play like they did tonight the rest of the way.

Grateful to be a Tennessee Vol. This is not the ceiling. I do believe we will hoist the trophy under Heupel.
