They say they want to protect the QB, then call it that way. Also the facemask on Eason was called, barely a touch to the grill not a grab, but I get it "protect the QB".

When a QB goes full tilt into the defense, then if the defense can't match, then we don't have a sport. Yes, Reasons was a facemask. Did you see how #33 broke down and sacked Nico later? That's how it's done, not like Eason unfortunately.

All the more reason Nico needs a talented qb coach with a proven record of developing these types of players, Nico is one hit away from Tua type concussion or a transfer to San Diego State or Fresno State

75% of targeting calls the offensive player lowers their helmet.
I disagree. Most targetting calls the offensive player is standing straight up or sitting on the ground and they get blasted by a defender. This is why you almost never see targetting called when a running back is involved because everyone knows the running back leads with his helmet and is not a defenseless player.

I thought Nico was going to get killed last night.
I've called the young man skinny since he got to Knoxville and he's put on a little weight but he's not quite to Justin Herbert size yet.

But by Golly the young man stepped into the big hole left by Dylan Sampson not being available and ran hard.

I'd rather not see him doing that on a regular basis and I'll bet his body is telling him the same thing this morning but he clearly did what he felt he needed to do. Good on you, Nico.
