What some of us have been saying all about the offense needs no more proof than the shovel pass.

CJH did not trust Nico to run his offense like Hooker did. All year Nico had a preset place to throw the ball. Last night there are 4-5 examples of him throwing it into triple and quadruple coverage. The shovel pass was stupid. On TV you could barely see Sampson and he threw it anyway.

Not a knock on Nico at all, I believe with more experience he will get us humming like Hendon did. This is the reason we slowed down this year and stalled way more often than in the past few years.

Go Vols, very good year, better than anyone could have imagined. Remember, only one team and fan base will be happy through the summer.

I think it was a direct reflection on Nico. How can you not see he was covered up and just keep the ball or throw it away. His decision making to this point is worse than bad.

Lmfao this is probably the worst take yet. Screen passes like shovel pass are not plays that typically involve a read.

There is no read on that play. You either throw it to the RB or throw it into the dirt. Given he was able to complete it and gain a yard, he made the right call by throwing it to the back

Your contradicting yourself in your own post. No read but if it isn't open, throw it into the ground.....I think that would be a read.

Then how do you explain him throwing into quadruple coverage?

Lol our wr's are not good. OL can not block a competent football team. Real wr's look like Ohio State. NFL caliber guys. Until we have that again like in 21' and 22' you won't see that offense. You can't go fast if the OL doesn't perform and wr's get open more than 4 times in a game. I was at Ohio State last night. Nico was no where near our problem. We need OL, LB's, S and real WR's

Ho hum. We lost to a team at their home that was determined to erase an embarrassing prior effort, and just as determined, to shut our orange and white yakky mouths up.It's just that simple.

Iamavalhalla only has 3 years to learn that is terrifying you guys have no shot at improving! All downhill from here, Peyton was such an amazing freshman he could have won the Heisman!!!! Total bust this Iyammavalla guy has no time to be like Peyton! Peyton should have been drafted after year 1!

It’s funny how nobody seems to bring up that the ‘22 offense had the Bilitnikoff winner taking the top off the defense repeatedly.

The onion is authentic news and Fulmer won the natty year 1 or was it year 2. Tennessee has tons of potential, remember Peytons year 1 and Hooker was already halfway through an NFL career in 22. Milton has the vol fanbase too shellshocked to even enjoy the ride. Took Barnes like 8 years to get a team of 20 people elite. You can't sell your product without consistent wins, the vols are doing that. Who joins a team because of being good a few years? Soon every 5* will at least think about UT

You missed the point of the post. I can't write it in crayons here. Point being, Nico has predetermined places to throw the ball. Which leads to our offense not working like it did in 2022.
