I get it: "fan" derives from "fanatic." On the other hand, those of us who are talking about how much "we" put into the team and the program and how little we've gotten out of it are just full of crap. We didn't do anything but show up and buy merch. Did we roll out of bed for two-a-days? Did we study film for hours and then go over it with the team for more hours? Did we work out when we were told and how we were told? Did we ride herd on young men who make more than we do?

Yes, I'm disappointed that we didn't play better. I was not disappointed when we beat Bama, nor was I disappointed when people said we had a very good defense and a talented, though young, quarterback. Y'all take a chill pill and come back next year. Or support a different team. God knows there are lots of Tennebammers out there.

There are people on this board who don’t just buy shirts and hats. Some of us donate and spend thousands of dollars that go directly to the Athletic Department and the NIL collective to provide resources for the program. The FOOTBALL program.

I’m one of them and expect a better return on investment than what I saw last night.

No we rolled out of bed every day and went to work and spent our hard-earned money that we traded time for that could've went to something else. Gtfoh.

I assume you, like me, have supported UT through the "lean years" also. You are getting a better return on investment than you did for many years in the recent past. We all are.

That wasn't the Music City Bowl or Taxslayer Bowl we played in last night, it was the College Football Playoffs.

It sucked to lose and lose badly but maybe your historical memory needs a little joggle.

Nope. I didn’t give a dime to the athletic dept during the Dooley/Jones/Pruitt years because I knew what we were getting and they weren’t worth it to me. Once we hired Heupel I was back on board, but something needs to change if they want more of my money.

Ah, I see. I like fair weather also.

Rain is fact of life, however.

Sir, don't you understand that logic and reason are not welcome in these parts?

Then it's clearly time for you to spend your hard earned money and time in other ways. Why throw good money after bad?

Just because you invest into the program, doesn’t make you entitled to anything.

And the fans who just buy t shirts and hats are just as much fans as the ones who “donate” to the program.

You sound selfish.

You’re right, I’m not entitled to anything, and I also never said anything about fan comparison. If I were selfish, I wouldn’t give a dime to them but still demand a championship-caliber program just because.

Sorry you feel the way you do. Doesn’t affect me either way.
