Ohio State spends much more on NIL than us. All VOL fans need to contribute. We can not just let the very wealthy carry the load. Shift your charitable donations from church and charities to our NIL will provide us to means to be happy on Gameday. Join hands for Tennessee Vols.
Maybe we just need to trim some fat? Personally, I think we've not gotten a solid return on our investment with some players. Might need to renegotiate or make some cuts....create some cap room if you will. Spend the money elsewhere? Just saying.Ohio State spends much more on NIL than us. All VOL fans need to contribute. Correct, you must also try to improve staff in all areas daily, nobody needs to have a "safe" job.Maybe we just need to trim some fat? What is the story with the $22 million amount that Division 1-A schools were directed to spend next year. Is that a maximum per school and is there a penalty if schools go over? Who is keeping an eye on this since the NCAA has lost a lot of power? It's silly to post things like this when it can be nothing more than speculation. We don't know what is spent on NIL, and how it compares to other schools. Perhaps the money needs to be allocated better? None of us know .... but if championships were won by simply spending the most money for players, than nobody but the Yankees or Dodgers would ever win the World Series. It's not that simple.

No idea as to your questions ..... Though I don't think there is anything like a salary cap. What is the story with the $22 million amount that Division 1-A schools were directed to spend next year. There will be no cap under the current structure. Courts have pretty much made that clearWhat is the story with the $22 million amount that Division 1-A schools were directed to spend next year. In my opinion (if this is left unchecked by caps), this will all reach critical mass and implode on itself. Like any business, the employees deserve their fair share, however, they can’t steer the ship. In my own personal business, if the employees were allowed to totally control the situation, we’d collapse.
My prediction is that the whole college athletic system eventually hits a reset. (Hopefully) with the creation of an NFL developmental league or something, so the ones that want no part of college can go on and make their money
Just my 2 cents.
It’s not $22 million, the cap is 22% of P4 revenues from the previous academic year. That works out to a little over $20 million for next year. What is the story with the $22 million amount that Division 1-A schools were directed to spend next year. In regards to NIL yes, but he’s talking about revenue sharing, which begins next year. The cap has been set at 22% with 4% escalators built in for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
You should try and renegotiate and/or make some financial cuts and see how quick our superior athletes move on to a different program. Unfortunately this is not how things work in sports currently, the player has all the power once signedMaybe we just need to trim some fat?
