Want to know the REAL reasons we lost Saturday night?
Not as much coaching as personnel.
2 reasons for that;
Playoff teams ranked by roster strength
Top NIL rankings
We got outclassed because OSU, UGA spend double on their NIL, and have FAR more talent than we do;
UGA:
Overall Team Talent Composite: No. 2
Roster Breakdown: Five-Stars: 14 | Four-Stars: 55
OSU:
Overall Team Talent Composite: No. 3
Roster Breakdown: Five-Stars: 14 | Four-Stars: 55
UT:
Overall Team Talent Composite: No. 17
Roster Breakdown: Five-Stars: 5 | Four-Stars: 34
Until we get near the top of those 2 categories, expect us to remain at or near the same level of competitiveness.
Gotta spend as much as UGA, OSU, Texas in order to get to that level of competitiveness.
Hell, even Clemson made the playoffs, some may say they overachieved, but honestly, with that roster, they really underachieved, as did a few other non-playoff teams (LSU, A&M)
Honestly, using the 2 metrics, UT was the team that overachieved.
Arguments can be made about Boise, SMU, etc, but that's more of a selection process abomination that anything.
