I wonder if this is a reflection of our coaching at the WR position. Our WRs have not been open much of the year and we have had a big number of drops. there has to be a reason why the production of the WRs has dropped so much the last couple of years.

I dont think our President cares if we win nattys in football. What they do like is the 50-70 million in TV money coming their way. Helps with their nice salaries and homes. Kind of like politicians.

Thornton technically has a year available since he was in school during COVID. Whether or not he decides to take that COVID year is a different story though

the new NCAA ruling that players who went to JR College can have additional years of eligibility.

Yep. I can't say I blame them for putting themselves up for sale, though. May as well get while the gettin's good, but that doesn't mean I or anyone else needs to give a tinker's damn.

I don't know this but I feel like they let him go. He's had 6 TD in his career. That's not a difference maker IMO.
30 catches,67 and 34 or something like that isn't exactly lighting it up. This position, slot,can be the difference maker in this offense a la Hyatt.
We can go get someone who can replace 30 catches and 2 TD a year easily. Hell Staley may duplicate that.
We need an upgrade. Feel like the coaches see this too by letting him walk.

When you have no chance of playing in the NFL it makes sense to test the market and just play for whoever will pay you the most in college.
