NIL deals are almost certainly for a single year because a player can transfer each year and if you gave them their 4 years of money, they could take it and transfer and you're screwed. The famed "Nico got $8M" quote almost certainly means Nico gets $2M per year. If he leaves after 3 years, he'll have $6M, I'd bet.Can a player get better NIL deals as they progress through their years? Or is a 1 time offer up front?
I’m just wondering if let’s hypothetically say that Bishop who probably didn’t have a big NIL deal would get a big NIL deal through TN.
Or is his best shot is to put his name in transfer portal?
Agree. Things quickly got out of hand. NIL (name image likeness) is not really mentioned except to give a name to their contract. I said contract because they sign something. Other than the Dr Pepper and Nissan Heisman House, how many businesses can you name that a player is getting paid to represent? I don’t even know who Nico represents and he’s getting a reported $2M a year.It is not really NIL, it's pay for play. Wasn't meant to be this way, but they can't stop it now. They can make a lot of money for mediocre play.
Not exactly. Nico supposedly made 2M last year and played very little. Based on this year, I highly doubt he was the one of the best last year. That is called potential. Paying a college player on potential is a very dangerous game, unless you are using “somebody” else’s money.Except it is. The best players are making the most money.
Except he received money the day he signed (CA high school ath could get NIL) and that was for being the #2 ranked QB in the nation. So again, the best players make the most. Not exactly. You mean "pay for play" and negotiated salaries based on performance?
Isn't that called professional sports?
Boo Carter just negotiated a better deal today. Can a player get better NIL deals as they progress through their years? Or is a 1 time offer up front?

Absolutely no one is forcing TX to arrange big money for Manning. If it's dumb to pay these guys, it's the schools who are dumb.Wake up...............this is NFL Minor League...............and it is Professional Sports
The BEST players are NOT getting the most money..............the Players with the Best Agents and Best Press is getting the Best Money
Best example of that is the $$$ Manning is getting and he hasnt been on the field enough to tell if he is any good. If his name was Jones....he would get a dime
