Been a while since I've posted. Figured I'd ask for others ideas on something that from a fan base perspective on this process.

In this modern era why as fans are we so attached to players VS finding the right guys who are a better fit for the structure we've seen when it's rocking?

I am curious, is it because that's how a fan romances the game watching guys come up and develope that made them satisfies, or is it because Battered Vol Syndrome is in such effect in our fanbase that if any little things falls outside the norm it means the bitter end?

Also, after the recent pavia ruling, do we go away from recruiting HS to working the Juco ranks harder to get guys with same eligibility but a few more years experience and overall maturity behind them? And just cherry pic the HS guys?

JUCO players would be physically more prepared!

If they’re not gonna spend the money that it takes to get the elite recruits here at the top 5 level then yeah this is probably what they’ll have to do.

Really no need for the recruitment process any longer

We are passed the right fit for the system stage. To have a chance to win a title you have to get the most talented players and mold your system to them. This isnt the NFL where you can go and build a system and tun it for years. Our core roster turns over every couple of years and we arent only selecting from the highest level of players.

This “right fot for the system” is what gets coaches fired. Cosches who can adapt thier system to their players are the ones who compete for titles. Look at Saban, he came in hating the spread and ran a power run system. By the end he was running a spread option because that style was what the best players did best.

I believe that the ”portal romance” players are enjoying right now, is based on tampering by a number of high profile Universities during this short portal period. Players are being sold a bill of goods by schools and many of the players who have entered it will be unsuccessful at finding the place they really want to go. Many additional players wI’ll enter the Spring portal starts and even fewer of those players will find a home. The stars will be OK, but the majority of the other players will no longer be playing football in Division One football. Some players will be on easy street, but many many more will be out of competitive football at the highest levels. This is unfortunate, but Agents and player managers are leading many players down the path of disappointment.
