What is the main difference between 2022 and the last 2 years? Maybe a 5th year QB being compared to QB's starting for the first time.I think we do need to replace Kelsey Pope just coz how WRs have digressed in last two years. Also Heupel needs to reevaluate his offense in last two years and make adjustments. If he is calling plays, may be handing it off to an OC (like Ryan Day) could help. If Halzle is calling plays, then serious evaluation needs to go into what went wrong and how much of it is play calling.
I am sure they'll look at all that but many coaches are known to be stubborn and that sometimes leads to their downfall. Hope Heupel is more adapting like Nick/Kirby etc and not stubborn.
Ummmmm have you seen the WR group and the Offense. We have been in the top 10 for drops 2 years in a row. And multiple teams that we play against have labeled our offense predictable. If not for Sampson and defense we wouldn’t have done anythingProof we HAVE to? What gives you that broad brush to paint with?
The offense has been talked about in numerous other threads. It all comes down to Joe and Nico not being able to process information quickly enough.Ummmmm have you seen the WR group and the Offense. He looked fine in his 1st start he doesn’t look the sameWhat is the main difference between 2022 and the last 2 years? Maybe a 5th year QB being compared to QB's starting for the first time.
Nico and Joe cannot process information quickly enough. Nico is learning and might be able to or might not be able to. If you change the offense, he will never learn to and the guys behind him won't either.
Problem with a RS Freshman QB.
I respectfully disagree that is the only difference. Under Golesh/Huepel we ran more screens, more motion up front and a lot of crossing routes. For some reason that has all gone. Also a play caller can also identify ‘mismatches’ with defense and Golesh seemed to do it a lot more when he was in the booth. What is the main difference between 2022 and the last 2 years? The time we used before the snap was the box talking to Nico about what to read. Golesh didn't have to do that nor did he have the ability to.I respectfully disagree that is the only difference. While I agree with Nico will being better next year, we need to introspect on how we can evolve now that SEC defenses have caught up to us.
He threw for a little less than 200 yards his first start vs Iowa, I think 189. This year counting the cupcakes & SEC he threw for 2616 yards/13 games = 201 yards passing per game in 13 games. So far, he's around a 200-yard passer.Didn't throw for much, ran for a lot. Played a terrible Iowa team. Looked great against UTC and Kent as well.
Think of the drops and bombs he missed.....could have been much betterHe threw for a little less than 200 yards his first start vs Iowa, I think 189. Statements like that are just crazy, you have no idea whether or not there are expectations or what goes on inside that building. You also don't know whether or not they turn jobs down. We can only speculate and doing that with absolute statements makes no senseWe aren't replacing any coaches. They're all happy with where they are because there's no expectation to perform and as long as Heupel is here, they know they aren't getting fired. If all these coaches were hot commodities they'd done left for higher paying jobs or promotions.
