Everyone needs to step back and relax for a moment.

Go back you look at the exact same posts, the exact same "_____needs to be fired" the we are gonna suck posts when almost the entire secondary left last year. They were replaced with better players and the unit much improved.

Sucks when promising players leave, but it was just that "promising" not proven. Maybe practice habits, weight room habits, film study, blocking, or something of the such caused these promising players to not get on the field. We will never know for sure because we are not there in the room.

None of the production that has left cannot be replaced easily. Our guys in the portal are not going to Oregon, OSU, Georgia or any other top team. They are going to Appy State, Maryland, Miss State, Vandy.

In a few days we will be getting commits from the players in the portal that the staff wanted and all will be roses again.

I can't relax. We got skull dragged by OSU during a game where the players seemed disinterested, and coaches had no game plan on either side of the ball. Now our remaining talent is hitting the portal. Will be lucky to win any conference games next year if we don't get some new players from the portal.

Do you know who they are planning to sign from the portal? Have you had meeting with these departing players and learned the building is in shambles?

Being all pissed off and making stupid statements about coaches not developing players, players hating coaches, how we are gonna suck because one diva WR who could not get on the field this year is leaving makes no sense.

Over react much? Where is our "remaining talent" transferring to? How come our "talent" could not get on the field this year?

No, I don't over react. I see the writing on the wall. We are recruiting 8th or 9th best in the SEC, teams are spending twice our NIL budget. Then we lose multiple players to the portal. Not a championship recipe. You can relax if top 25 is the goal. Top 5 not happening.

Where are these talented wr going to play next year? Did you over react like this last year when the secondary left?

Seems finishing 2nd in the SEC with 8 or 9 schools spending more should be promising and not a negative. How many of those teams spending more made the playoffs? 2?

Top 25 is going to be difficult to reach if we are going to be lucky to win any conference games.

We lost ALL of our WRs and we were allergic all year to running slants, quick passes, short passes, outs, etc. Those are SIMPLE plays that would have spread out the defense. Why didn't we run these plays more often? Our offense was run up the middle or deep pass play. We ran very few runs to the outside or outside WR plays.

Understand our offense before commenting about it. We have slants, outs, and short passes built into every play. Our receivers do not have a specific route they run on this play. It is dictated by the guy covering them or the zone.

Remember this phrase "if he is even, I am leaving" if the defender is even at 5 -7 yards, run past him. If he has inside leverage, run an out. Outside leverage, run a slant or post.
Up to Nico to process this information quickly, which he could not do this year. Maybe next year he will be able to.

But who is he gonna throw to? Our whole receiving core is either graduating or leaving in the portal. Looks like maybe a couple of freshman will make up the receiver room in '25.

I just said this in another post but…

Remember last year when half of UTs defense entered the portal? Ended up with the strongest defense in decades (save that embarrassing last game)

people with ties to the NFL have messaged to Heupel, Nico, and Nico’s family that his comp is Jayden Daniels. I’m not saying there will be wholesale changes to the staff but I am saying look for the offense to transform into something different.

Let me see if I am comprehending what the defenders of the portal are saying here.

1) Our offense relies on making instant decisions based on what the defense gives them. It’s more complex than we realize.

2)Our receivers that had been in the system for years apparently sucked at it and will not be a loss.

3)Getting brand new receivers in the portal will fix the issue. They will somehow learn the complex offense in one offseason and be better than anything we had on the field.

And I’ll throw an extra out for an example. Matthew’s this year wasn’t learning the complex offense fast enough because of its design is why he wasn’t getting playing time people cried for, but brand new receivers will pick it up in a few months and be our saviors? Lol. Ok. If you insist.

No one with NFL chops is saying that. That is ridiculous, and I like Nico but he isnt a Jayden Daniels comp.
