Harrison Bailey starting for louisville

Blast from the past.

Surprised he’s still playing. Feels like that was a lifetime ago.

Don’t search my history because I’m 90% sure I posted on this forum that Harrison Bailey would lead us to a SEC Championship.
With the way courts are ruling these days he may just do that (after we pick him up out of the portal at the age of 32).

Good for him.

Just wasn’t an SEC caliber QB.
Don't know about that. He looked pretty good today.

I think the reality is that he got thrown out on the field way too early. Just wasn't ready back in 20/21. And no way he was going to get to play over Hooker or Milton. Probably never be the elite QB we had hoped for when we recruited him, but I think he could be a serviceable QB on many SEC rosters.

Where did he shine in the SEC?

Who cares? It’s not like he was set up for success and it doesn’t have crap to do with the sec. The sec has a couple teams that are really good every year and 15 teams that want to ride their coattails. The sec superiority complex is ridiculous.

Third string at UNLV, sat all season at Louisville, and was like 4th string under Heupel.

Why didn’t other SEC teams pick him up from the transfer portal if he was that good?

Yea I read what the other dude posted. Where was Hooker on the depth chart before Milton got hurt? Sometimes all someone needs is a chance in the right situation.

Why did no one recruit Aaron Rodgers other than a single community college? Why did Va Tech relegate Hendon Hooker to the bench?

I wouldn't equate 'lack of teams recruiting' to quality. He was heavily recruited out of HS and wasn't ready. He was very lightly recruited leaving UNLV and he looks like a much better QB now.

Brohm looks like the real winner here; took a high-potential QB and developed him, when not a whole lot of teams were interested in him. Likely will be their starter next season and I'd take him over a few SEC QBs. If anything, this falls into the "coaching matters" bucket. QBs that don't get coached well don't perform well. Bailey has gotten great coaching under Brohm.

He like 3rd string at UNLV and just now broke the 1000 yard mark in the 5th year of his career.
