Leave the SC alone. For the number of snaps and pace, we have been really healthy for a CFB team. I remember a lot of our teams where we had a lot more injuries annd played 30% fewer plays. Exception being that the WRs do not really rotate and that hurts their health, IMO.
I think our OL looks sloppy. Several of our guys have had off-season surgery and that hasn’t helped. We also are thin from the Gump-related restrictions so we have who we have. Heard looks out of place and heavy but was a shell of himself because of injuries from before is. Other than that, we don’t look physically bad.
*I used to work for the USOC in a WR and there are a million different approaches and a million different opinions. However, some dudes you don’t have to do much with. Bo Jackson didn’t lift. My SC coach was his SC coach. He told us there wasn’t a need for him to lift.
I have friends who coach at Big12 and ACC schools who always said there were levels to this. Their best guys can’t compare to the guys at the best programs. Sabans guys came in bigger, stronger, and more genetically gifted. Now, if the smaller schools get one that is that good, NIL buys them. We just have to get to a point where we aren’t handcuffed by the mess the 2010s left us in.
2022 was a freak year where we had some holdovers who had experience and talent and it spoiled us by speeding up the recovery process. Problem was, there wasn’t the scholarship players behind them to continue that progress. We are still playing catch up.
