With all the money he’d make selling the Browns, he could then be our big Sugar Daddy (kind of like Knight is at Oregon).
We could call him our pseudo General Manager and he’d love to take the credit of “leading” the Vols to having an elite roster capable of winning national titles.
College football is now all about having the deepest pockets to buy the best roster. We need someone who is capable and willing to do that. Not sure I know of anyone else other than Haslam that fits that description.

I know that.
I just want them to donate at a huge level like Knight does for Oregon.

We don't know at what levels they are donating.

We also have more boosters than just the Haslams. There is no correlation between their donation amounts and owning the Browns. That doesn't hurt Tennessee. In fact it could be a selling point as they could state that a player that is good enough could enter the draft boards for the Browns. I would think having an NFL team that you own would be very enticing to players.

I understand that it was Daddy Haslam that was the BIG Vols fan, I don't know about his son.

I don't know if the Dad is still alive or not.

Take their $$$$ but keep their noses out of how our Vols are run!

VFL...GBO!!!

One donor won't solve all the problems of NIL today, you need multiple.

That being said, Oregon has money and Tennessee has money. I do think Tennessee can do more on the NIL front.
Depends on the donor. If Phil Knight actually wanted to he could solve all of Oregons NIL. He is worth 35 billion. If he wanted to, he could give Oregon 200 million per year easily fixing their NIL.

This is always misleading because that includes the shares they own in companies. You can't just take out the shares without causing issues with the company. He pulled a bunch of money from shares out of Nike, it could sink Nike. People make the mistake of thinking the wealthy people in our nation are like Scrooge McDuck and have a piggy bank full of cash.

Sorry but no, they have donated a ton of money. Sometimes With money, comes control of the decisions. See where that got us. I am sure that they are donating, but I don't want us answering to the Haslams at all.
So many think a huge donor fixes everything, but it is been found that the number of donors is what makes the best investments
Large Donors think they are entitled to decision making or final say. This does more damage than good.
What's more someone donating a $1000 a month thinks they do as well. or even $25. IOW, donate but expect no input.

In the famous words of John T Majors “ we’d love your money but not your 2 cents worth”
What did he say about spending like drunken sailors....with someone else's money? Like a kid with their parents credit card. Pretty easy to be loose and free with others hard earned cash.

Why do people keep saying this? Can’t wait to repeat history where the Haslams act like petty kings in Orange by making crappy decisions and tanking the program. The Haslam family has the black touch of death when it comes to sports teams.

They messed up the Vols back in the day. They have destroyed the Browns, and are about to do the same to the Preds. KEEP THEM OUT OF KNOXVILLE.

Eh, Jimmy has been pretty successful with soccer. Football is where they have issues.
