There appears to be some misconception among many Vol fans in general about SECN+. This is a streaming only complimentary channel. While I don't claim to be an expert about many things, I have had some experience with the SECN+ because I insist on being able to see as many Tennessee sports as I possibly can and, because we are no longer in proximity to go to games on a regular basis, streaming is my only option. I have attempted to explain this in a number of threads and in the Facebook group of which I am a member, but the information doesn't seem to be getting wide dissemination, because the same questions keep coming up about access to SECN+. I hope by giving this its own thread that more people will see it and some may benefit from it. I hope I do not come across as being sanctimonious, as that is not my intent.

If you have the SEC Network through your cable/satellite/streaming service, you can access SECN+ at no additional cost. Having ESPN+ does not give you access to SECN+. To access SECN+ you have to use either the ESPN app on a smart tv/streaming device such as Roku/Amazon Fire stick/Apple TV or you can use a browser to access espn.com and maneuver to the Watch tab. There is also an ESPN app for Windows through the Microsoft store that you can download to your PC. Either way you will be asked to sign in using your cable/satellite/streaming provider. Once you sign in, you will be able to access any content your provider authorizes. For example, we use YouTube TV with Roku. Because the subscription includes the SEC Network and the ACC Network, I can access SECN+, ACCNX. I can also access ESPN 3, as well as all the usual ESPN channels, including ESPNU and ESPNews. If you access espn.com on your computer you can cast to a smart tv that is on the same network by clicking the windows key+K on a PC or using airplay on a Mac.

There have been a few people who have the SEC Network in their package who have reported being unable to access SECN+. I had a friend who had a similar problem. The problem was caused by the fact that the ESPN app was trying to sign into an old account that was no longer active. In an earlier thread, because of the experience dealing with that problem, I recommended the following steps:
1) Go to settings in the ESPN app and sign out of your provider and then sign back in using your service provider login.
2) if 1 doesn't work, try deleting the ESPN app from your Roku and reinstall the app and then sign in using your service provider login
3) If 1 & 2 don't work, unplug your Roku device from its power source and wait approximately 30 seconds and plug it back in. Then try the ESPN app.

Obviously, these steps mention Roku exclusively, but should work for the ESPN app on any device with any service. If none of the above work, there is a problem between ESPN and your service provider. My experience in that regard is that each will tell you that the problem is caused by the other and you have to wait until they start playing nice with each other for things to work right.

I hope that this information helps. I certainly want everyone to be able to enjoy our Lady Vols and Vols games!

I had to watch on my desktop tonight. Couldn't get the game on the app on 2 different phones and 2 different iPads. Something was going on with the app and my comcast service. They need to get it straightened out. I stream that app to my TV all the time but tonight was a no go. I wasn't happy.

I too use YouTubeTV but received a message from them back in December that said they will be going up on their monthly cost of $72.99 to $82.99 per month on January 13, 2025. This is only $3.00 less then Hulu Live TV which gives you ESPN+ for free. YouTubeTV is simpler than Hulu Live when you first see it but after a while anyone can do it. I tried Hulu Live for a few months in mid 2024. I plan on switching back to Hulu Live in February in time for the start of the Vols baseball and Lady Vols softball seasons. Hulu Live TV also includes Disney+ free for the kids.
I use both Smart Tv and Roku on tvs.

I haven’t ever streamed much because our satellite internet signal is very weak. The one game I did stream used so much data my entire internet speed was slowed down for the rest of the month. Is this common?

My internet service is via satellite. I have found a typical game can use from 1 to 3 Gigs of data depending on the resolution, and the device I'm using. In the past I have streamed to a laptop and connected to my TV for viewing. Also have used my IPhone and cast the video wirelessly to my TV. This season I'm streaming on my TV using ROKU. I have yet to evaluate my new setup. P.S. You can go to your ESPN settings and change Video Settings from HD to SD. I believe that gives you 720 pixels vs 1080 or 4k.
Here is a link that explains data usage zas related to video streaming:

We have comcast with the sports entertainment package and had no problem until very recently other than it took a while for the connection to work. Just a few days ago we were on the phone with a comcast trouble shooter for over 30 minutes and nothing worked because to watch espn+ or sec+ you now have to sign in to a my Disney account on the espn app. What I ended up doing was getting a Boost membership with my kroger credit card that cost $40/yr and they let you select one of 3 streaming accounts. I chose ESPN+. Was able to set up account and passwords thru my disney account on espn app, log in each TV we use and worked fine last night. The comcast rep said she couldn't find in their current coverage language that the SEC coverage in our plan now included SEC+.

To receive games that are ESPN+ exclusives, you do have to have an ESPN+ subscription. However, the SECN+ games are still included through your cable package. You have to select the SECN+ broadcast, then login with your cable credentials.

Where a lot of confusion is happening this year is that now all of the games on SECN+ that were previously exclusive to cable providers are now also available to ESPN+ subscribers. So in the app, if you select the ESPN+ feed instead of the SECN+ feed, you’ll be asked for ESPN login, rather than your cable login.

Once you have set up you laptop and are able to watch SEC+, it is easier if you bookmark it . Next time you want to watch SEC+. you can go to you bookmark and then activate SEC+ by entering your email address and password. Saves a lot of time.
