WR portal stuff

It was discussed by Austin Price, Eric Cain etc on their podcast (today’s episode on Volquest) so its true that the rumor is floating and Price seemed to say ‘its mostly from guys who did not get playing time’ & he would be curious to know what Bru & Thornton think.
We will never know the truth.

A friend of mine told me he saw on social media somewhere. (I don’t have SM).

The reason so many WRs entered the portal is some dislike for the WR coach.

Any truth or just BS?
It could be a combination.
From what I’m learning is that our WRs have to read the CBs and make the “smart route”.
I don’t know who is suppose to teach them those points. I would imagine the WR is coaching up “techniques” to creat space and NOT decision making off what they see? Could be wrong.
I would assume that not every WR in college or even the NFL constantly want to make those decisions. They would rather just run their routes. I think that’s why Hyatt isn’t that good in NFL. He’s not used to run specific routes?

Pope has to prove himself as a coach in 2025.

He had one of the worst Qb's in the SEC. When he did get thrown to he was doubled and triple covered and the QB starred him down until the ball was thrown.
Milroe was 4th in QBR in the SEC and 14th nationally. He could be bad but he could be pretty good as well. I would not say he was one of the worst.

4th - Milroe - 78.2
14 - Lagway - 57.7
15 - Vandagriff - 56.4
16 - Arnold - 47.7

QBR is obviously irrelevant then... Milroe is not good QB. Milroe surrounded by 5 star talent, none of those other QB's can say the same.

Not sure if want. I hear he’ll be 18 before spring practice wraps up and then he’ll just be a garden-variety ridiculously talented athlete.

If you take away his first 3 games of the season he had 8 tds and 11 ints on the year. He was one of the worst QBs in the league in the 2nd half of the year
If you take away the OCC games, Nico had 8 tds & 3 ints and only 1500 or so yards.

Milroe had 5 tds and 8 ints and about 1900 or so yards.

BUT

We did play those games and the stats count. Not sure how you can say a 1st round pick is not very good. Would hate to see what you think of Hendon, since he was drafted in the 3rd round.

The guy is projected as a first round NFL draft pick, but maybe you know more about it that all 32 NFL front offices.

Like I said, he isn't the best. He can be good or not so good. Not much in between.
After watching his last game. I wouldn't be surprised if he fell to the second round.
