I'll watch NE game if that happens.
He gets way more hate here than deserved
Eh. I mean if someone hates him as a human based on how he played, that’s uncalled for and more hate than he deserved. If they hated watching him play, that’s more than fair. Unfortunately we may be in for 1-3 more years of similar play.

You should change your user name to avoid burying the lede in the future.

I don’t understand it either. He’s a good guy, stuck it out when he was benched, is a true VFL imo. If he could get his accuracy down he’d be a force. In the meantime, I think we were all shown why he started over Nico as Nico just wasn’t ready. And in the same vein, if the coach tells you you’re the starter of course you’re going to go out there and play. Was he supposed to bench himself?

If Hendon was never here I feel Joe wouldn’t get the hate he does and play calling and WR dropping balls didn’t help the cause

Yep. You’re talking about having to follow one of the best two QBs that we’ve had in the last 20 years. I could see if Joe had an attitude and was pouty but he did everything that was asked of him and represented the university with class. Not to mention he really wasn’t a bad QB at all.

Hate? That's a bit of a stretch; even for VN. Most in here love Joe, and love to see him succeed....Joe got no help from receivers dropping balls like hot potatoes.
They actually were hot potatoes, many times. They had to turn, quickly spot an incoming laser beam, make their adjustments in .01 second, and sacrifice the soft tissue on their hands to reel one in. I think many of Joe's inaccurate passes were the result of trying to gauge just how much to reduce the velocity with his natural throwing ability.

Meh, I will fully admit I was pretty down on Joe after the 21 Ole Miss game.

Still don't understand that one lol.

Over the next two years though, he kind of redeemed himself. Was a good teammate and did his best to help Nico. Showed up every day and did the best he could with what he had to work with. Did anyone ever hear about an off field issue with Milton? Only thing I can recall even making the rounds was him cold cocking Jeremy Banks-and that was more than deserved both under the circumstances and in general

We all knew going into last year that Joe was never gonna be another Hooker or even Dobbs. Milton speaks very highly of UT and has more than earned his VFL stripes I wish him nothing but the best in his career and life in general.

It's pathetic some posters try to lay some issues from this past year on him, and he's not even here! It's not just trolls but regular posters. Most of them without a damn clue. The " I spent $$$$$$$$$ going to see them and supporting them" crowd is so laughable with their reactionary criticisms

JoMil might see action Sunday. Very limited to be sure, but I'm pulling for him. As at the UT, he is proving to be a great teammate, being coachable. OK, let the canniVol derision begin. MSN
I hope he gets to play! I live in NH about 1hr north of Foxboro (not a Pats fan) and everyone I have talked to that are Pats fans want to see him play and I hope he gets the chance let’s go Bazooka Joe!!!

Go back and watch the drops. Keaton dropped a bunch (would be TDS) that weren't lasers.. College receivers at a Major University should be able to "catch the damn ball." From pee wee ball it's throw and catch....

I agree. Historically I don’t really care for the Pats, but I do want to see Mayo succeed as a head coach and I’d love to see Joe get a shot in the league.

The only 2 reasons I have been somewhat keeping an eye on the NFL is Mayo and Milton. It’s great to have some TN blood up here in New England… Rocky Top 4-Life!!!

The problem with your assessment is too many negaVols and canniVols have proven by past posts they vilify him but don't love him.
I'm just glad to see he will have a chance in a real NFL game to exhibit the Pats trust in him.

Never say never… definitely seen crazier things happen… Mac Jones had a good rookie year then flopped…
Joe Milton being a starter due to anything other than injury would be rather crazy. Maye has a bunch of physical abilities that Jones simply never had. I doubt rather seriously they are going to bench Maye in year 2 even if he is bad, unless they had a good veteran backup and a chance at the playoffs.
