NIL will not work without a-

Apparently everyone on this board is happy with the officiating they are seeing. I have watched very little of the CFP, but some of the calls make me question if things are on the up and up. Just from what I have seen it seems rigged. I don’t think Tenn is NC material, but I see certain teams getting favorable calls, or calls such as holding or pass interference being interpreted different. With tv money and money being waged you know tv doesn’t want another Ga vs TCU debacle.

I think the process will eventually blow up on the big spenders. They will get the "big headed" 4 and 5 star players that will constantly demand more money or they won't play or play with halfway effort.

A team that has built a team of solid 3 and some 4 stars might have the advantage. Kind of reminds me of some of those teams in Basketball like Butler or Davidson that weren't necessarily loaded with top talent but build a solid team around core players.

Yea I remember Saban never winning the big games bc he had too many 4 and 5 stars

Very excited to see our QB with a split helmet and no targeting. If a kid wants to injure another kid, what business is it of the referee?

It is rigged..During Penn st game ref went over to franklin told him the next play would be a flag ..Franklin then asked is it on Us or them ..Then on the next play there was a flag on the other team .Been rigged I know of every since Bama beat Texas ...Needless to say Colt took a dive ..I think texas or penn state wins it but ND would be a feel good story ...

I'm surprised anybody thinks these people are smart enough to "rig" it one way or another.

He's wrong about how it will blow up. It will blow up when people, large donors and small get tired of the yearly free agency and stop/reduce the money train.

IMO it's just a matter of time before these players become employees. Congress will pass some bs making the NCAA exemp from the Sherman act. Things will calm down a ton then. Players will unionize etc

Salary cap or a Star limit. Just too much dough in the upper tear!!!!
that makes zero sense. Star limit based on what? lol As far as Salary caps the market will self-correct. It always does. Big market schools with good programs will be hard to compete with. Teams in small markets are gonna struggle with a few exceptions. Lucky Knoxville is a big enough market and is growing.

A salary cap would still likely violate antitrust law, since the players aren't unionized like they are in other professional sports

How much does NIL effect a team like Boise State? They have a team loaded with "underpaid" 2 and 3 star players. Yet, they come in, get coached up, play with a chip on their shoulder, and always show out. They damn near beat Oregon and their 20 mil roster this year, and made the playoffs. It's great to have team loaded with 4 and 5 stars, but there's no substitute for desire and determination.

Make them sign multi year contracts. If they break it pay the consequences stated in the contract. But this will only work if it’s a rule mandated by the NCAA or the future college football commissioner.

Agree with most of this. However, if they were in the SEC or BIG I doubt they make the playoffs
