From everything I’ve read, the SEC is expected to stick with an 8 game schedule that will include the 7 teams not played in 24-25 plus one permanent foe.
In our case, that is Vanderbilt.

So, in 2026, we’d play Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas, TAMU, Mizzou, SCarolina, LSU, and Vandy.
(Hard to imagine a season not playing UF, UGA, BAMA, and UK).

Whatever it is I hope the sec doesn’t play the same teams 2 years in a row

Sorry but I do expect them to do that again in 26-27 swapping home teams like they did in 24-25.
Then by 2028, there will be further expansion, consolidation, or other changes throughout the college football landscape.

So teams with an easier schedule gets 2 years to enjoy it while teams that get a tougher schedule get 2 years of misery lol

Even without UF, BAMA and UGA, that schedule is no walk in the park. League is a danged meat grinder. Brutal.

The SEC is holding to an 8 game schedule simply cause ESPN refuses to pay more for 9 SEC games. If ESPN added $, 9 would be the number.

I suspect the 2026 & 27 schedules to be the same, just sites flipped unless something strange happens.

Would have preferred playing the Texas schools in alternating years. Gives us a more consistent presence for TV and recruiting with an annual game.

How bizarre not having Bama or UK in particular.

Yeah baby we get Vandy!

Of the 2 coveted rivals: Vandy and Miss State have to be the best to lock in a win year in and year out.
Traditionally you could add Kentucky, Arky to that list.

If we go to a 9 game SEC Slate, then we will get Vandy, Bama and Kentucky as permanent rivals. As mentioned earlier, with 8 game SEC Slate, we have Vandy as permanent rival.

If those are the opponents, I expect the home and away to look like this based on our last matchup with each team

Home: Auburn, Mizzou, Texas, LSU
Away: Ole Miss, A&M, USCjr, Vandy

How horrible will the third saturday in October be in 2026? I can't imagine not playing the gumps, fLordia or UK. We get two old games in auburn and ole piss back. God I hated ole miss when I was a kid.I still do to be fair.If we get ole miss away , I'll be there with bells on. Trade off is still not worth it to me

Nothing has been decided about the format of the conference schedule beyond next year. Nothing at all. Before the 2024 schedule was put in place, the conference considered permanent rotations of a 9 game schedule with 3 permanent opponents, and six rotating each year, OR an 8 game schedule with 1 permanent opponent and 7 rotating each year. However NEITHER plan passed. The SEC instead chose to do a 1 off schedule of 8 games that preserved the traditional rivalries. Then they decided to run that same schedule back for 2025 and just flip the locations.

The SEC wants to keep it's traditional rivalries, but it also does not want to go to 9 games unless ABC/ESPN pay for it. They could do one off schedules without a defined rotation until the end of time if they want to and that's probably what they will do until the 9th game is paid for. That's basically the way it worked from 1933-1991 anyway. I don't see a world where a schedule is put out where we don't play Alabama, Vandy and Kentucky, or where Alabama doesn't play Tennessee and Auburn, where Auburn doesn't play Alabama and Georgia, where Georgia doesn't play Auburn and Florida, etc. All the more so given that the playoffs haven't gone well this year. The SEC will cling harder to its identity.
