The last time a #1 team scored less in a road game than we just did was 1957. This was a historic embarrassment. Honestly I’m dumbfounded as to what just happened, never would have expected. No idea what to think of this team going forward. Idk if that was an aberration or an exposure.

Not usually.

But crazy things can happen in mid-week, conference road games. This just happened to be an incredibly abysmal performance. Have to flush it and move on.
At one point Gainey had an uncontested 3 from the top of the key and shot if off the backboard. Then we missed six of eight free throws on the following possessions. Some nights the ball won’t fall.

On to the next one.

This really isn’t an example of something that just “happens,” though.
Sure it is. Florida played plenty well, but plenty of those shots we missed were open, the shots we actually want to take. Sometimes the whole team goes cold, hopefully they got it out of their system.

This hasn’t happened to a number 1 team in 57 years. This is one of the very worst performances a number 1 team has ever had.

Tonight sucked. You have to just put ot behind you.

When we were ranked 6th in 2021 we lost on the road to an unranked Florida team by 26. Arguably that’s worse with a similar shooting performance.

Tonight, our defense held a good team to well below their average points, and required us missing wide open shots for us to get beat. We only hit 8 field goals in the 2nd half, which is terrible..and double what we hit in the first.

This kind of game doesn’t happen often, but it happens. Be glad it happened in January and not March.

This game was an aberration.

Tennessee will never shoot this poorly again as a team.

It was an awful night. It wasn’t an exposure. We won’t shoot that bad the rest of the season, and as luck would have it, the gators got us on such an awful night.
I'm with everybody else we need to just flush it and move on. Let the embarrassing loss motivate you to go on the road and beat Texas.

Having said that, I'd be lying to say we didn't get a little exposed tonight.
Having to count on Mayshack to shoot 3's when Dalton is covered or off shouldn't be our game plan. Need to have Igor take it to the rack with confidence more. Need to have some plays that get Dubar more involved offensively. Need to do it earlier in the game, too.
Need to cut back on looking to just lob it every other play. Need to focus on trying to get it inside before we just settle for a quick jump shot.
There are a lot of things uncovered tonight that hopefully the coaches get right to work on.

It sucks, but in the grand scheme of things doesn't mean much. We had to get to be #1 in the first place just to qualify for this stat.

We will have to learn quickly to play better offensively on the road. Got to be more than just Lanier. All that matters is that we improve and peak when it matters
