Dubar with 10 mins was 0-3 from 2 and 0-2 from 3 with just 1 rebound and 1 asist.

Neither really did any better against Arkansas.

It's SEC time, boys.
Need to try to figure out how to contribute something offensively, or we are in trouble.

Mashack is the best defender to ever play at Tennessee, and one of the best statistically in NCAA history.

We can get beat as we all saw tonight, but one guy getting hot isn’t going to beat us because Barnes will stop it with Mashack.

Clayton scored 33 against Kentucky, 27 against UVA, 25 against ASU. Mashack held him to 7 in 30 minutes.

I wish he’d score more too, and if he did, we’d be talking about a top 5 lottery pick. As he is though, he’s an incredible weapon we have to stop the best scorer on any team from beating us, and that has incredible value.

They had a terrible shooting night but they had no answers for Florida. No outside or midrange jumpers. Lane penetration wasn’t working. No inside game so no inside out. No great motion to create back door cuts. There was just nothing of substance.

I like Barnes but last night is what we have seen for most Barnes teams at UT. A dominant scorer who goes cold and no one else picks up the slack and Barnes has no answer.

So yes it was just one loss but is it indicative of a larger problem?

I don’t think there is necessarily a larger problem. Most of the more centered personalities on the forum and beat writers, tried to warn the more “volatile” among us there were SEC road losses out there waiting for even the cream of the conference this year.

The real issue, I believe, is our collective expectations had trended way up. Tough loss for sure, but most centered basketball fans noted the six Q1 victories Auburn already had in their back pocket, while we were only toting three.

This team still has room and potential to grow. I’ve never given up on my Vols, and doubt I ever will. Hope my perspective shared makes it a little easier to stomach the debacle we witnessed last night. Goodness gracious…

A voice of reason among a very reactionary group of people. The team, collectively, had a horrendous night shooting. When these games happen the team looks much worse than they are. It was one game, on the road, and in a hostile environment. We had a ton of good looks that we missed, and then it snowballed. There will be more losses coming for us and everyone else. Expectations can be a bear for some people. Toss and flush and move forward.

Here’s the thing. If fans complaining after a loss really bothers you, you just aren’t cut out for following sports. Watch the games and unplug after a loss, because people aren’t gonna act like losing is hunky dory. You will see things that upset you.

I think the finger definitely hurt. I also think this is the strategy for most teams going forward. I love Mashack but clearly he’s not much of a threat on the offensive end usually. Most teams will be thrilled if he’s volume shooting for us on most nights. Last night I think Florida was so up and excited the adrenaline they had was obvious IMO and they used it to steam roll us. Especially after we missed several wide open looks in the first 10 minutes of the game. JMO

I thought it was more the terrible post play of Milic mostly and Okpara , Philips than anything to do with two guys who don't score much anyway in Mashack and Dubar that got Tennesse killed
