Any Tennessee Coaching Changes?

I’ve recently heard that Eckler might be replaced. Not sure how much truth there is to that.

Obviously, we have Banks getting offers for lateral moves

Many people want to see the OC, WR and OL coaches replaced but is there any actual Intel?

No and we won't until it happens...that's how CJH runs his ship.

Also, the only newd I've seen or heard about Eck being replaced or leaving has been on this message board...take that for what it's worth.
He is the only coach not out on the road recruiting this week. Not sure what to take from that.

More than likely not. Banks is coming back thank God. It’s been said Martinez is coming back. No mention of OC, WR or OL changes. So same old staff.

If that actually happens, we will remain a second tier program with a ceiling of 10-2. Our offense will remain predictable and unable or unwilling to innovate. Our receivers will remain unable to separate. And Nico will still be running for his life.

We aren’t a second tier program.

We probably won’t know anything until closer to spring practice. Heupel is low drama and will announce once it’s done. If he’s wanting to “fire” anybody, he will probably give them time to find something else first.

Ekler will only leave if he wants to. Family is from that area. Figured if he were going though probably would’ve already been announced. If he leaves I would guess Chop would get promoted.

Banks I think is out of the running for Miami or Clemson. No body is getting fired or anything. Martinez might choose to retire at some point soon but idk if it will be this year.

I’m pretty sure we saw some different wrinkles this year with the different two tight sets and different blocking schemes really contributing to the run game and I think that shows Josh is willing to innovate

The problem seems to be more related to elite talent in the passing game from the wide receivers and pass blockers. Nico seemed like he never had time to throw or had to hurry his throws and even when he go those throws off he either over threw or the receivers dropped them.

So I think that’s actually what’s gonna keep us a second tier program, talent acquisition and development

On the coaching staff front, it feels like Tim Banks is likely back as the Vols’ defensive coordinator. Banks has been on the road recruiting all week and a good bit of that time has been with Josh Heupel.
Mike Ekeler’s name has been mentioned with a special teams opening at Nebraska. Ekeler was not out on the road this week recruiting for head coach Josh Heupel.
Defensive analyst Levorn “Chop” Harbin was on the road all week along with Heupel and the other nine assistant coaches

Who recruited the players?

The coaches. So yes, it is all on them.
Can't argue that point. Very true. Wish Heupel would surround himself with coaching talent like ND's coach did. They might not have OSU's talent, but I think ND's coaching will give them a puncher's chance in that game. Wish I could say that about the Vols.

N D has a lot of talent and they have put it on display so far in the playoffs. The two most disapponting teams in the Palyoffs have been Texas and Georgia. Both have tons of talent and both had problems with the Q B play. Texas has kept their best QB on the bench and Georgia appears to need a new QB to enter the picture. I think most of us knew Alabama was down and will like remain out of the top two teams in the SEC. I think Tennessee will be as good or better than they were this past season. I believe our Oline will be better, or WRs will be better, and the LBs will get better with experience. The QB play will slap improve and we will.for the fist time in a couple of years, have adequate backups. A lot of SEC teams lost a lot of good QBs this year.
