He had a good game, but ZZ being able to break down the defense and get in to the lane in the second half made the difference for this win IMO. He quietly ended up with 16 points.
That was one of my big takeaways from this game. More ZZ dribble penetration and less dribbling around the top of the key. Wouldn't hurt Mashack to take it to the hole more either.

Always gonna be ugly when we play these guys. Their coach was with Barnes for a lot of years and knows our offense better than our players. He knows how to stop it. I’m proud of Barnes for changing it up and using 2 guards for the high ball screen to free up ZZ to get down the lane and create. I also thought it was pretty funny that their coach knew he couldn’t beat our team defense so he just didn’t run any set plays. Just spread out and get your best player playing one on one. A real compliment to Barnes and his system.

He held up really well switching off on guards as well, generally avoided getting blown by. Aidoo could not do that. We are able to switch 1-5 without depending too much on help. He is a really good fit for our system. Going to enjoy watching his offense develop over the offseason into next year!
