Congrats ZZ! He deserves every accolade and record that comes his way. He plays the game the way itā€™s supposed to be played. Iā€™m trying to savor every game we get to watch him this year, because I will sure miss seeing him out there next season. Barnes was right when he said at the start of his Freshman year that he thought ZZ would go down as one of the all-time fan favorites. I hope he can get a shot at the next level, and when his playing days are over he can come back here and help coach if he wants to pursue that.

ZZ deserves all the credit. I have enjoyed watching him ball EVERY game. The 3, the floater and the lob, amazing to watch. His ability to defend 94 ft from line to line is a thing of beauty and unmatched on the team. We will miss him when he is done. Looking forward to the rest of the season on both ends of the court.

Heā€™s the kind of guy you absolutely HATE defending you. I love the way he plays!
Zakai Zeigler: loves his teammates, coaches & fans. All love him (except opponents, who are anxious for his departure).

True, and to think, that guy had one D1 offer coming out of high school.
Another reason I prefer to have a developer as a coach of a guy that just recruits, like the man in Arkansas. Most of the guys Barnes has had success with here were guys that were not very highly recruited and were thank you so much here 3 plus years. A lot of coaches talk about system and culture, but itā€™s real here. Im not discounting ZZā€™s talent and hard work, of course, but I love how this staff brings on guys like that who buy in, take hard coaching, do the work, etc instead of just chasing guys with a bunch of stars by their names.
