When you examine what I call line changes ( substitution of 5 at a time every 2-4 Minutes ),you will see that what one ( at least I do )would consider starters on other teams ( what I would refer to regular practices/systems ) those starters are sprinkled throughout each line change. Now ,this practice does a lot of things imo : 1) it gives all members of the team a chance to develop their skill sets quicker under fire both offensively and defensively;2) It gives the individual and the team a really good opportunity to capitalize/optimize each team member's individual skills ( if execution is done under the scheme ) , viola the team benefits immensely ;and ,3) it has the obvious advantage to keep players fresh .

Now these are not breath taking observations but I just felt the need today to put in writing what has evolved with this team and Coach's systems from my perspective. And ,oh by the way along the way our Coach is fielding two teams of 5 each who become familiar with each other as the season develops and any absence of one or even two players for any reason has minimal adverse effect on the overall team as a whole.

There were some on here that were concerned as to this system working against SEC teams and other top 10 teams, and rightfully so, but I think we now see that it will work against these teams. There are still some holes in system the better teams are taking advantage of that needs fixing but I see them being addressed. Execution is not always there but the athleticism is and its all coming together.

I believe all will be pleased as time goes on.

Agree ,hopefully the defense both full court press and half court will improve to the point they are giving up a minimal number of uncontested and minimally contested layups.....there will always be "some " uncontested layups when the full court press is broken but there have been too many especially against good teams thus far. And,on the offensive end when transition plays are not available then run some good plays offensively that optimizes the best shooters/scorers by better spacing and quicker reversal of the ball taking more advantage of screens to give three point shooters some space to shoot and if that space is not available then screen and roll will be .....there was some good news vs Miss State in that regard in the 2nd half .....they had several screen and roll plays that resulted in layups .

Lot of that fix will come with better players the Lady Vols will get. CKC did not have much time to put this group together. I think a lot of players will want to play for the Lady Vols again. We lost to Oklahoma by 1 and LSU by 2. When was last time the Lady Vols were hanging with these teams. I agree with you some things need to get fixed. When the other team breaks the Lady Vols press they been getting lay ups.

I believe you meant voila.

Unless you're thinking of Viola Davis.

I love Kim's system.

It's an exciting brand of basketball and is well ahead of schedule all things considered. I shared my thoughts on the 'system' on a different thread but I'll share here as well.

Aside from the obvious press break leading to easy scores, I see it being difficult to get into a flow when subbed in an out so frequently. Shooters tend to shoot their way out of slumps but not getting repeated reps (in and out of the game) may prolong shooting their way out of it and getting into a rhythm. Fresher legs will aid in defense but will also not allow you to get the feel of guarding that player. We can all watch tape of a player's tendencies but when they are bouncing the ball in front of you, it plays out a little differently.

On the flip side it leads to wearing out opponents, all players playing with each other (different rotations), and more possessions which leads to more opportunities to score.

I'm enjoying the games and see things improving. Go Lady Vols!
