They put Tennessee at 19. That is too low IMO. I think Tennessee should be in 11-15 range. LSU in top 10 makes 0 sense. People keep hyping LSU and they keep under performing.

South Carolina also seems over ranked.

I am worried about a slight drop-off simply because we graduated so many good players from both sides of the line, similar to what happened to Missouri this year.
We have good players, but many are young and unproven. They could easily prove me wrong, but until then, lower top 20 seems fair.

Fortunately, I do expect a surge in two years. If we can sustain and retain current recruiting, we can join the elite teams in simply reloading each year.
2022 was a proof of concept, 2026 is when we might have 4 consecutive bluechip classes.

Well, so much for being back.

We started 15 this year and finished 9. I would rather start low and finish higher than the opposite. I still think we get some disrespect because of the bad taste in the mouth people had with ranking Tennessee high sometimes during Butch Jones and Jeremy Pruitt era only to see Tennessee collapse. Keep in mind that in 2016 we started preseason #9 with Butch and finished 22 while in 2020 we started in top 15 and finished 3-7.

Well we did just lose our ESPN 100 top players to the draft and the only one on the list that is returning is injured (Jermod McCoy). Nico did not make the list. South Carolina Freshman QB LaNorris Sellers was #65 and Alabama freshman Ryan Williams at #71.

We aren’t recruiting with elite teams.

I stopped reading once I saw Penn State at #3. The only reason they could possibly be that high would be a similar schedule to last year where they play one tough game all season.

The national media love affair with the Big 10 is nauseating, and never more so than with Penn State. You never read that a charmed draw was solely responsible for them being in the semis, they just simply refer to the season as "national semi-finalists".

Not that any of these polls mean a damn thing, but every poll I've seen aside from ESPN has us in the top 10.

Being ranked behind Alabama and Florida is just a slap in the face to everything this staff and team has accomplished. ESPN is a joke. Stop linking their poop.

Our only big loss is Pearce Jr. Upgrading OL. Returning QB and most talented WRs. Secondary is loaded. McCoy will be fine by the time the season starts. Replacing Sampson with an RB with more YPC and fewer fumbles. Offense is going to be explosive again. I don't see us losing a game.

Every year for the last 5 to 10 it seems LSU is in the ESPN top ten or five and every year ESPN shows just how little they actually know about college football and LSU and Brian Kelly. LSU could have finished last year 1-10 and ESPN would crown them pre-emptive national champions

Sellers is good, and unless The Life gets to him, he's only going to get better.

To be honest, South Carolina at least has something of an argument but LSU??? LSU??? Alabama, Ole Miss, and Tennessee aren't even in the picture when all three seem to feel like they could be top 15 teams and I would take all 3 over LSU.
