Cooper Newman from Sevier county hasn’t been talked about very much. He’s just a sophomore but he put up some crazy numbers passing this year. 3500 yards 72% completions 45/1 TD to interception ratio. Keep in mind this was just his sophomore year too. Sevier county beat some of the best teams in the state in route to the state title as well, so this kid seems to be the real deal. Through his sophomore season he has a 67/9 TD to interception ratio. The kid is GOOD. Anybody think if he keeps this up that we would potentially target him? I mean he’s right in our back yard. Thoughts?

While that’s great, there’s another QB that’s a freshman across the state that had a better season. But it’s crazy to think about the amount of talent at QB in the state over the next 2-4 years between Simpson of Westview and Newman.

While I agree that Simpson is very good. I feel like it may be tough to get him after everything that went down with his dad and brother.
