POG for today’s game is

Lanier. 21 pts, 5 boards, and played some quality defense.

Close second to ZZZ. 9 assists and 17 points.

Honorable mention to Dubar for a few quality minutes and 5 points.
That play where Dubar took his man in the lane was impressive. I wanna see more of that, along with a line drive 3, a game. Dubar shoots the 3 like I used to, but I still willed one or 2 in, a game and I think he can, also

He's shown he can drive into the lane and score
He's been getting those, just has missed them.
I think a lot of that is being amped up finally getting in the game/ nerves.
Would have liked to seen him get some more minutes today for the fact we need him to have all the game time experience he can get. At some point in the tournament we will have to count on him for some minutes ( most likely some points), and I'd like to have him as tuned in and tuned up as possible.
One last thing of note, he's been playing some good D as well. If anything, nice to know we can count on him there.

I've witnessed him making some of them.

He was huge in the win at Texas

Yeah, no, I've seen him hit them, too. I know he is capable of making those shots.
Was just saying the last few times he has been in. I'm all for him getting a little more time out there. Especially like today when he seems to be hitting. Like I said, could really use him come tourney time.

Needs to be more consistent. That will come with more PT, but to create PT, he has to play responsible defense and stay focused of the flow on offense

With the droughts we have gone through, we dudes like double D with zero conscious, to keep putting them up if for no other reason than to rub off on the bulk minutes scorers. Imo

He has been very responsible on D the last 3 games. As far as the being consistent on the shooting I agree, but to become more consistent he also needs the minutes. Last 10 or so of the game today would have been a great opportunity in regards.

Anyway, I like to believe this version of the Vols may be peaking at just the right time. This Kentucky game is gigantic, now. Because we are beating Vandy, so 5 in a row and another road win, at Rupp, would give this team an extremely firm grasp on a #1 seed, imo.

Confidence is everything
It's real hard to be consistent when you're not getting consistent minutes. I'd say say the same for confidence. Hard to be confident if your afraid one miss will get you pulled. Hell, he got pulled today after 2 makes.
I'm not really being too critical on Barnes about it, tho. He knows the team more than I, but I just know we will need Dubar at some point. We willl ultimately end up in a game where key guys get into fouls trouble. Dubar has shown he can even guard the 5 if he just has, too ( see Flordia game)
Be nice to know he has had the most experience he could have got. I think missed a little opportunity today in regards to that, IMO.
