2025 defense depth/projections

Biggest 2 worries for me:
DT depth- we knew this could be an issue with our graduates and haven’t hit the portal. Really need Hobbs to turn in to the player he was projected to be out of high school.

LB- I still don’t think Telander has the athleticism to be a championship caliber starter on D but this is where we are. Spillman has to stay healthy- super thin here but LB is a position freshman can sometimes contribute quickly unlike DT.

Overall- DB seems to now be the strength. I think we can still have a top 15 unit- maybe not top 5 again though

Jacobe Thomas as also very physical.
And yeah Turrentine will be the main safety.
Jordan Thomas will factor in and plenty a lot but I don’t think he’s above those 3.

Linebacker. Jaedon Harmon is the 6’1 225 lbs linebacker that ran a 10.7 100 meter and was a tackling machine. He’s way better than Perlotte and will be hard to keep off the field.

West and Bailey are 1 A and 1 B. And because of that West will also play DT and let Weathersby take more snaps at SDE.

I think this unit will certainly be up there around the Top 10

Yeah I like Jaeden’s film, went to small town Rome which is the area I grew up in. Are you sure he’s 225? In his pictures he looked more thin than that. Good call out though I just added him.

I put Thomas in because he was slotted to start last year- I’m not sure how much above Christian and Jacobe he was at that point and they certainly gained ground with him out a year but hopefully he’s back healthy and can push for time. I like our DB unit- for some reason I still am iffy on RGIII’s covering ability though.

I think you Forgot about Jamal Wallace in the DT rotation. From everything I have read the staff likes him. Also, Christian Gass will most likely start at LEO instead of WLB.

Everything else you listed looks pretty close to accurate.
