Vols drop to #6 in week 15

AP Poll Top 25 College Basketball Rankings released after Week 15

Seems they liked Houston winning a bit more than that uninspiring first half we had against Vandy

We also lost at Rupp...

They adjusted based on the full week of games. Florida jumps Duke because that top 25 road win at Mississippi State and Houston just won at top 15 Arizona.

About what I expected to happen. Vols just need to focus on winning out. The rest will take care of itself.

Wish I could laugh at them too, but I just can’t. 😕

Don't care one bit. 3 of our next 5 games are vs 2 top 7 teams and a top 25 team..... We take care of business (unlikely to win all 3 with two being on road), we could easily vault back into the top 3....

Beating A&M and Bama and Ole Miss in a 2 week stretch will slingshot us up.
We literally can control our own destiny as far as a #1 seed. With the strength of the SEC this year and everything taken in totality, I'd say that is a pretty good spot to be in/successful year thus far.

This is the Coaches poll. The AP is the one the media outlets/TV networks use. We are 6th there too and Kentucky only fell to 17th.

What sucks right now is we only have 5 losses and 3 of them are to KY & Vandy.

Dumb logic
Exactly! I would say the 2nd half is far more impressive than the 1st half was a dud. Would have been easy to mail it in and come out flat in the 2nd.

Get down 16 and dominate the 2nd half. Shows a mature team, a team that does not panic, and shows the leadership of the older players.

Just as in football, the team laid some eggs in games they should have won. You don't take care of business and beat the teams you should beat and it's likely going to bite you in the keester at some point. I fully expect to be sent as far away from Knoxville in the tournament as possible, and be given the absolute worst matchups as a result. They've only themselves to blame.

our most likely destination for the first 2 rounds is Cleveland

It looks pretty likely unless we move up, 4 teams in front of us will take up Raleigh and Lexington spots, Cleveland is then the next closest.
I'm hoping and thinking this team doesn't care where they play. I'm almost certain they aren't worried where their fans want them to play. We have fared we'll on neutral courts.

What really sucks is knowing we have effectively saved their season. If we would have won those games they would be 15-10 right now and 4-8 in the bottom 3 or so of the conference. They would be fighting to just make it into the NCAA tournament. Probably would've ended up 17-14 for the season and 6-12 in conference.
Even so, they aren't going to finish much better than that anyways.

Location is the last thing I care about. Seeding first, then matchups. Location is a very distant third.
