Now we can expect heightened motivation on their part and a greater chip on the shoulder effect coming off a loss. How much difference do any of you think this will make, and how do we match up against the Aggies? Thanks, Go Vols & I'll hang up and listen.

They at home so they had the advantage anyways. May make then play harder, but I'd say it wasn't going to take much to get them up for that game inthe first place.
We are just going to have to sack up and get us a signature road win this Saturday if we want to keep that #1 seed alive.

Although it probably isn’t certain a home loss to NET #16 would have bumped them out of the top 30 but possibly.
Home losses are never good for the Net, but yes, they were playing a highly ranked team. Some of the Net is driven by efficiency, too. So they put up decent points on a good defensive team,

I must be a dummy - I wanted them to win so it helps us with a Q1 win - maybe even a Q1A win at the end of the day
A win at A&M would be a Q1 win for us whether they won or lost last night, and it wouldn’t be close, so there really was no point in wishing they’d won last night for that reason.

Yes you are correct - but as I understand things, the selection committee actually breaks Q1 down further into Q1A and Q1B, so wins against Q1A count even more. I’m sure you already know this, so sorry for being obtuse - but it seems like beating aTm with a better record could help us in at least a minuscule way …

Texas A&M would still be a Q1A opportunity on the road.

They would have been total POS if they weren't playing as hard as possible in a top 10 game

A&M did not drop at all in NET rankings due to the loss and Missouri moved up to #13, so it actually strengthened our resume. It also helped us in terms of SEC standings.

If UT loses at A@M Saturday, the number 1 seed is off the table IMO. Let’s see what we bring Saturday on the road in a top 10 match up. Go Vols! If we are who we think we are (a potential #1 seed) then we gotta prove it Saturday at noon on the road with the building packed and amped up to a fever pitch. Tag your it Vols! Prove you deserve a #1seed.
