Maybe the loss to Ole Miss was a good thing?

Of course, no one wants to lose, but this loss for different reasons, hits harder than usual.

For starters, we just came off of a really emotional win against Alabama that had seeding implications involved. After that, the team had to make a trip to Oxford, which is kind of an odd place to play, and it's not your usual rivalry game.It was Ole Miss's super bowl, senior night and they had a lot of things to play for.

I think our guys got somewhat complacent or too comfortable with the way we have been winning lately. This was the first game I have seen from a Rick Barnes team where we just could not stop 1 player, brakefield. He just out manned not only Okpara but also Mashack, which never happens.

I think this loss comes after a perfect time. Right after a historic win and right before the tournament. I rather lose in this fashion now than in the tournament. I rather Igor miss a game tying embarrassing bunny at the rim and Okpara get out-worked now than come March madness. Reality sets in when you lose games late in the season and this was kind of like a slap to the face to everyone. Lose 1 game in 2 weeks and its curtains! It's good to experience things like this so you can prepare for it when it truly matters.

I really like this team and I do believe this game makes us even stronger. You know Igor been in the gym all day after that. Tennessee is one of the best teams in the nation and I see us going deep

We don't have the scoring to go deep in the Big Dance.
The loss to MS didn't cure that.
We don't know what we got evidently. We do know we have a team capable of Making the FF.
It is something. SEEDING, LOCATION, OFFICIATING determines the rest in the tournament. Decent placement and we have a better chance than most.

Folks in humble opinion, once Fla waltzed into Tusca and beat the Tide, we were never going to be a 1 seed - even if we won the SEC tourney. Nope, the NCAA was going to reward "Stalker Golden" d@ck pic sender
extraordinaire
Yes, the university discontinued the investigation one month ago, but can you believe this low class still has a job? The times, they are a-changin.

Sweet 16 Team...TOPS!
Agreed. We are too up and down to make a deep run. We can beat someone by 40 and the next game can’t throw it in the ocean. Lady Vols are the same way. They just proved it in the SEC Tournament. I expect both teams in NCAA Tournaments to do just that. To win first game convincingly. Then everyone on this site to say we are going all the way, and then lay an egg the second game. I certainly hope I’m wrong on both accounts. Go Vols and Lady Vols.

Florida has the Golden Horseshoe. It is what it is right now.
I just want the Vols to plow Carolina, make a decent showing in Nashville, and I believe they’ll get a 2 seed in the NCAAT.
Rest up and make a deep run. We’ve all seen what they can do when everybody plays together. Can’t have people taking the night off, especially against some Cinderella team.
I remember people panicking last year when DK, Santi, Aidoo and others left and wondering if we’d even make the NIT this year.
We have a HOF Coach and really good players, and IF everybody is locked in, they can win the whole thing.

I’m not sure I agree. We had the scoring to win 24 out of 30 games so far, including over 8 AP ranked teams. Perhaps some things would need to fall into place and some luck on our side, but the obvious thing I think too many somehow overlook is that with a defense like ours, in the great majority of games you don’t need to score lights out to win. I think it’s quite possible 6 games could go our way in the Dance. 🏀🍊🧡

Scoring wasn’t an issue and we are 21st in offensive efficiency while being one of the better defensive teams under Barnes. I don’t know how you define “deep” but we are absolutely a second weekend team and I believe Elite 8. Final 4 will depend on the matchup but given that we’ve never been there I’d guess we won’t get that far.

I entirely disagree. This team is actually super consistent. The LVs truly are up and down but not the men.

Lack of ingame adjustments was troubling. Brakefield was not Zack Eddy. They should have been able to shut him down

That's actually not a good description of the men. Nice try

This is a better than average team. A good team doesn't play from behind as this team has 75 percent of the time. I look for them to lose in the second round of the SEC tournament.
