I’ve seen several projections that have the Lady Vols now as a #5 Seed and ending up in the Spokane bracket. That doesn’t look super promising.

Where do you think they’ll land and how deep a run can they make? Do you think they’ll be a one and done with a #5 seed?

I'm going to assume they're a five seed for this question. In which case Ro32, and every round after would be about the matchup. They have proven they can chase teams with less guard talent or less athleticism off the court. So. I would probably guess Sweet 16 and then out.

OH - that is, unless they're still the team they were these past four games. If they're this end-of-season version of UT, then probably 1 and done, out in the second round.

Sweet 16, potentially Elite 8.

The problem is they need rest and recovery and this time between now and the tournament will really help them. This style isn’t one that can be maintained if you aren’t well conditioned and deep and this team isn’t as deep as it needs to be which is why they have dig themselves out of holes. They’ll be fine come tournament time. They aren’t bad and it isn’t that the system doesn’t work, they’re tired.

Matchups are everything. They do have a habit of demolishing lesser teams, look at what they just did to A&M. Remember 2 years ago, Lady Vols ended up with St. Louis and Toledo, and if it hadn't been Toledo it would have been Iowa State. Something like this type of draw would be favorable. Seeing an equally athletic team that they need to out execute...I would not feel great about. Can't wait for the bracket to come out!

To get to the Sweet 16, they'll have to beat a higher seed on their home floor.
I am aware how the tournament works, thanks. Not all higher seeds are the same in terms of match ups, is my point, and you don't know how the bracket will unfold as far as chalk or not. It's hard to predict and not all hope is lost on this year, at least for me. But that's being a fan, short for fanatic, and as a fan of the Lady Vols, I always have some optimism for my favorite team 🤷🏻‍♀️

I would guess that the film of the Kentucky game is making the rounds. Based on Kenny Brooks' overwhelming defeats of the Caldwell 'system' at Virginia Tech and Kentucky, most coaches will include that in their scouts.

There are no 'one day' scouts in D1 WBB. Each assistant will be preparing a scout of each team that they could face in their bracket days before a game, ready to install in the days before/between games.

Lot of team haven't seen the Lady Vols style of play. When you got only one day to prepare for it, that make a difference.

Agree -- to a point. I would argue that if any opponents know Tennessee is a likely future matchup and even if they have an entire two weeks to prepare, unless they have a practice squad capable of replicating Tennessee, it would still be a lot to get fully comfortable with in that amount of time. The NCAA, as far as I know, still limits the number of hours teams can practice each week, and required full days off are mixed in, so that's what makes the post-season so crazy.

Of course, all this is assuming Tennessee comes in rested and rejuvenated. They'll be a dreaded opponent if they do. But if it turns out that a mere week or so of rest was simply not enough and they come in spent, then the Kentucky film will be all anyone needs as a blueprint to handling an exhausted Lady Vol team.

All we can do at this point is hope the exhaustion isn't so profound that they simply cannot mentally or physically rise above it.

At the beginning of the season, with a new coach and a number of new players I only wanted this team to make the NCAA tournament so the Lady Vols continue to be the only team to make all of the NCAA tournaments. I believe they will be in the tournament so happy for this season. I think they will win their first round game, beyond that it just depends on which team shows up, considering their inconsistent play.

The style of play could carry them a couple of rounds. Based only on looking at the postgame pressers after the last 2 losses. No eye contact between the coach and players and they just looked ready to explode. Maybe there are some internal issues.

Last several games terrible shooters and terrible defenders. A&M they played well. Might not win a game if the can't guard and make a decent percentage from the field. Giving up 84 to Vandy is just really poor defense.

Totally dependent on matchups and where on the spectrum of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride our shooting is. With our seed slipping to 5 or 6, getting to the S16 would be a nice comeback fm a disappointing late season. Round of 32 is most likely

If we get by the first 2 probably 1st time opponents, then the probability of playing a SEC team or UConn or some of the others we had already seen in 24/25 go up.
