What do Louisville and Illinois have to do with ranked teams?

Sorry, I missed that Illinois is ranked in the top 25 now. So they’re 3-2 against ranked teams. Or one could make the argument that Clemson was not ranked when they beat Duke.
So is Louisville.

What really sucks is that the AP voters are chomping at the bit to end TN’s streak of being in the top 10 every week since mid November. It will take an Elite 8 to stay in the top 10. A Sweet 16 and the voters will move TN back to their preseason predictions (#12).

Auburn? Arizona? I’m not suggesting they played murderers row, that also wasn’t what your OP stated.
Those two I counted since they were ranked pretty high when Duke beat them.

When you wear orange, no one tells you that beating Louisville and Illinois is worth the #1 seed, but as soon as you wear Blue..

I was just responding to your original post which said Duke beat no ranked teams, that was wildly inaccurate

I think if you did a poll of 1000 basketball fans not affiliated with a top team who the best 2 teams in the country are it would be a high majority for Duke and Auburn. Auburn lost twice last week so I fully expected Duke as number 1. Can’t really argue with MSU and St John passing us. Go look at their recent runs. we could jump a couple with a solid finals run in the SEC but who really cares. We are just about a lock at a 2 seed.

Inaccurate? Yes. Wildly? Absolutely not.

Isn’t the number of ranked teams they’ve beaten “3”? It’s not that wild when you compare the number of ranked victories by The top 10 ranked SEC programs is twice as many.

Auburn, Illinois, and Louisville. (I missed that Illinois moved in while Arizona dropped out).

Losses to Clemson, Kansas (unranked), and Kentucky. None of which are top 10 teams.

The final AP poll of the season will be released a week from today, so the postseason won’t matter except in the Coaches poll.

Louisville is top 25?! There goes the neighborhood.. They looked like garbage when we beat them.
They’re 13th in both polls and have won 19 of 20, finishing 18-2 in the ACC. Much different team than we saw November 9th. I think we’d beat them again but let’s not act like teams don’t improve over the course of a season.

I was listening to the Sports Animal last week and they did not think that TN would drop below a #2 seed. Now, I am not so sure. I was thinking that they should lose the first game in the SECT since winning would not help them, and save their legs for the NCAA. Now I am not so sure that's a good plan.

We are a stone cold lock for a #2 seed at worst. Don’t be swayed by the AP poll, which has zero effect on the selection committee.

We aren't dropping to a #3 seed.

I do not see an issue with our ranking. Last week was a blah week for us and really looked like we had an Alabama hangover.

Ole Miss game was on the road, but SC was at home on senior night and we really were tied at halftime with a two conference win SEC team? I feel like that hurt us worse that the road loss.

Agree...8 about right for me. With this team you really don't know what you're going to get. Lack of depth this time of year can show its head too.

To be fair, though, neither Louisville nor Illinois were ranked at the time Duke beat them and Arizona in no longer ranked now, at least not in the AP.
