Agree 100%. The overreaction to the first round losses was just that, overreaction. However, with 14 teams in the field, I would say 7 in the sweet 16 is just about right.

If you go by tournament seeding as a predictor, seeds 1-4 are expected to advance to the sweet 16. A&M is the only SEC team of that group that didn’t make it. Ole miss and Arkansas crashed the party, though, so we actually have one more team than what would have been “expected”.

Yea, the Big 10 had 8 teams in and I believe 4 advanced to the sweet 16. Both conferences are strong.

I’m not a homer that thinks we have to show allegiance to the conference. I’m only pulling for UT to win. I hope the other 6 conference teams in the SEC lose in sweet 16. We gain nothing by other conference teams win in the tournament.

I mostly agree. Id probably prefer Alabama beat BYU and then Duke, but Auburn, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Florida can all kick rocks. I've got an all-SEC F4 just because I believe in the strength of the conference, but I'm all for it getting blown up if Tennessee advances and the rest lose.

Valuing the conference can matter on those years where UT is in that bubble area. The conference need to be looked at as strong. I want other SEC teams to win just enough to keep the SEC brand valuable. It doesn't help UT if the ACC, Big East, and Big 10 are considered basketball conferences and the SEC isn't mentioned.

If Kentucky's womens team would've pulled out the 1pt OT loss to Kansas St. it was looking like there was the potential for the SEC womens to get
9 into the Sweet 16, although no one is picking Miss St. over So-Cal, but, the women should match the men with 7 into the Sweet 16 at the end of the day.

It didn't hurt Kentucky all those years. I'd be perfectly happy if SEC basketball was UT and the 15 dwarves.

God no. I hope Alabama loses every game. The fact that they got to a final four before us kills me. I want to at least tie them in final four appearances this year. No way I want them there.

Alabama is the last team on the planet I’d cheer for.
