Juju

She can be a little dramatic at times but that looked like the classic, dreaded, ACL.

Of course we all thought the worst about Sam at Memphis so hopefully it was something like that. Way she did it looked like probably a ligament injury though. Best case is a strain.

Oh, no. I am just now getting back to basketball after taking a break after that epic Tide-Terps game, and JuJu is out. OMG. It's so awful when this happens, and so often at the worst times. Not that there's ever a good time, but to happen during the post-season is particularly crappy.

I didn't watch all of USC's last game, but I believe JuJu was still in playing after she injured her ankle (and they really didn't need her to play). You have to wonder if maybe it was still bothering her and by trying to play through it, it begot another injury.

Looked bad. Just a shame.

They have overplayed her all season. Im sure she wants to be out there, but sometimes coach has to be coach and be safe. Been way too obvious keeping her in the game to pad scoring at times. Can never predict these things but I do think her load could have been managed better and they could have limited some wear and tear. She took some hits this season late in games when things got chippy as well.

The way she planted the leg was awkward, and the knee seemed to give way. I am hoping it isn't ACL, but I would not be surprised if it is. Tough to see a player get injured, knowing it could be more than a "shake it off, you'll be fine, and you can go back in a few minutes from now" kind. It is a sinking feeling, because no player is immune to injuries. I hope she will be okay.

ESPN has spreads for all the other games, except for USC against Kansas State. Interesting.
I hate that for Juju and the USC team. Although USC played inspired and whooped the crap out of Mississippi State. Good for UCONN though, no Juju and to me UCLA isn't well coached. Geno will have a field day against UCLA. I really do think now it will be UCONN and South Carolina for the title. Never would have thought that when UT beat UCONN.

Why is this in the Lady Vols forum?
Not recognizing the name JuJu, I was fearing it was one of our gals.
What Lady Vols would go by Juju and if she did I am sure you would have heard that before you posted this if you only keep up with the Lady Vols. It's in the Lady Vols forum because right now that's the biggest story of the women's tournament. Even late night National Sports radio on the way home from work was talking about Juju and her injury. Very rare outside of scores women's basketball is ever talked about in length.

I'm too old and otherwise occupied to put in the effort to keep up with the nicknames of all our gals.
I'm too busy keeping the neighborhood kids off my lawn.
No player on any of the other teams interests me, so I'm not familiar with JuJu. I never listen to sports radio (or any radio for that matter), but I think the biggest story of the tourney so far is the way the Lady Vols are cutting through the competition like a buzz saw.

If you are really as old as you claim, you will recognized these.
What are they called?
