This was a complete Univ. of Tennessee win…..Coaching, players playing with talent and heart at a level that we have not seen many times for 40 minutes. I am so proud of those men in ORANGE that I can’t put it into words. That rebound dunk and steal for a 3 pointer when the lead was down to 12 was just amazing. The BIG ORANGE came to play and win.50% from the 3 point line in the first 2 matchpus.
Barnes, the great coach he is, wasn't going to allow that to happen again. This win was achieved with GREAT coachin!
GBO
Don't forget the gameplay to make a concerted effort to take the ball to the basket on offense. The preparation, scouting, in-game coaching, and the execution was all as good as it gets. They had to shut down the 3-pt. line and control the boards to win, and they did both as well as it can be done. Zakai was masterful, and totally focused for 40 minutes, Jordan, as he has been all year, was the secret weapon, and Felix was a man inside. Complete and total team win.
Agreed! Cemented the game. BUT…we missed the live action on the steal because apparently these game directors think they’re directing an academy award winning movie and show shots of coaches, bench players, mama’s, some random fan cramming popcorn in their pie hole etc and the viewer misses crucial floor action live. I’ve been having this discussion with several people lately. Keep the game action cued up ALWAYS. I love the back story as much as the next guy…BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF LIVE ACTION! That last minute or so when we spread the floor and played keep away was epic.
We have the ball, pass it, they try to steal, we steal it right back two or three times dribble the clock out was an awesome job of coaching. We already had our lead and the game, no need to pad it anymore.
NIL and the Transfer Portal is killing off the Blueblood programs.
All the Bluebloods had to do was to recruit and offer.
Now the emphasis is on a Coach's Ability to coach X's and O's.
In the future, less top in recruits will go to Blueblood programs.
Kentucky and Kansas are great examples of this. At times, more so than not, they looked very predestinarian.
CRB is a great coach with good eyes. We are seeing it because of the recruiting, Nil and Transfer Portal because he is now able to get what he needs for his brand and style.
Duke is the only Blueblood I see that may not be hampered by this because of the coach.
Ky entered that game flat and remained flat. That is on coaching and staff. Reason, conditioning and defense.
It was a first round TKO. They got hit in the first minute and never got off the mat.
This game was one of the best officiated games I have seen Doug Shows call.
Don't know if yall saw the post game locker room and Coach Barnes....(I'm not here to be critical of Igor at all but the last 2:00 minutes he struggled with turnovers etc)...at the end of Rick's encouraging statements to the players...Rick looked at Igor and ask "Igor...what were doing at the end of the game?"

All indications are ...Igor took it in stride. Rick keeps it open and honest ALL THE TIME!
I think Igor is really growing up and needed to be under CRB for 4 years. So much potential but needed a Coach to push him. He has been pushed and coddled by CRBs at the same time and has had to adjust to it in one year. Not long enough. IGOR will run through a wall for Barnes, but is still wanting to please and fills comfortable doing it his way at times vs CRB's. Another year under Barnes would have been great. Also, there is probably a backstory we are not aware of in the background.Don't know if yall saw the post game locker room and Coach Barnes....(I'm not here to be critical of Igor at all but the last 2:00 minutes he struggled with turnovers etc)...at the end of Rick's encouraging statements to the players...Rick looked at Igor and ask "Igor...what were doing at the end of the game?"
