Concessions at Coastal Carolina Football games will be free this fall

Back in the 70s, believe it was the Chicago White Sox who once had a dime beer night.

Guess even in the 70s that was quite the bargain-and went about as well as you can expect

There's a reason nobody has really done anything like that since amongst major sports ha ha.

Could you see the chaos of 100k+ hillbillies chugging $1 beers all afternoon?? Somebody is getting shot and there WILL be nudity.

I was saying they should do it at a Coastal game. If they did it at Neyland it would be a disaster of epic proportions. Imagine a night game vs Bama w/ $1 beer night . Neyland might not be standing by the end of the day.

Yeah-I knew what you were saying.

My mind just kinda wandered over to the same place yours did though lol-

What would happen at Neyland with absurdly cheap beer. Even the teetotalers would throw down a $20 just to see what all the fuss was about. We hillbillies like our bargains ha ha.

I would be careful with confusing can't afford with doesn't make financial sense.

Even before NIL (and during our worst)-the football program/AD was moderately profitable (Covid year might have changed that though?)

If D White decided tomorrow for whatever reason to give away sodas and popcorn at games would it impact the bottom line THAT much? Stuff costs a few pennies a serving. The cups are more expensive than the sodas/popcorn. What's a few million between friends right?

Face it, you could announce at midnight tonight the Vols were playing a surprise game vs Bama at Neyland tomorrow at noon and the place would be filled to the rafters by 11 am.

CC lost their rather high profile coach, Heisman candidate QB, etc all in a few months lol. I imagine they are having problems getting folks in the doors

along your point, going to an SEC game is an investment, in for a penny, in for a pound type of deal. Concessions being cheaper isn't going to change any minds.

but at a smaller school, its going to be more of the attitude of going to a high school game. you are there for the experience rather than being devoted to the team. free snacks makes it something you can take the kids to for cheap.

I would say more than one local lawyer would be handing out biz cards before that game. Once just one inebriated fool DUIs and kills or maims, or a fight breaks out w injuries, or property damaged etc etc ... UT has really deep pockets and it is where any lawyer looking for a yuuuge payoff would focus their attention.
