Vol Fans

I'm more proud of this than winning a game.
As it was stated in the last part of the article, it is a very loud, but tiny minority of VOL "fans" that give us a bad rep. The overall impression you hear from almost every visiting fanbase (Alabama and Florida are maybe exceptions) is that they are treated well overall both at home and away. The Uber-negavols and neanderthals that make up that tiny part of VolNation (Sorry Freak) cause most of our problems.....both internally and externally. For Jim Nantz to say that with his point of view is quite refreshing.

One of my favorite Tennessee traditions that often gets overlooked is when the Pride plays our opponents Fight Song during their pregame. Contrast that to Bama's band playing the Rammer Jammer cheer after Alabama wins a football game (probably one of the most, if not the most unsportsmanlike acts/events in all of college sports.

That is my very favorite tradition!

I agree with you on the fight song, but any good will there is totally erased by our ignorant and classless fans booing that effort. When we first started that tradition you would hear a moderate ovation from the visiting section and then a booming roar when we went in Rocky Top. We are so Florida sometimes.

POTS often plays their song better than they do
