I would love for it to be Meerk.

Have a weird feeling that Heupel and Co are a bit peeved at the moment though so we may very well just open up the checkbook and say who do you want?

Honestly, I can think of worse things than Heupel wanting to completely rewrite the offensive record books this season just to show that Nico was the problem last year

Why do some of ya'll think we need a portal QB? There was a lot of love for both Merk and McIntyre when they committed here, and now ya'll are acting like they are walk-ons. We have 2 good QBs. Let's fill other needs at this point.

Man this poll is pathetic. If I were those two guys and we go spend a bunch of coin on somebody else, I would bolt at the first opportunity.

1000%. The QBs we have on the roster are better than any QB currently in the portal. Do we throw some cash at someone to get them to jump in the portal? I really do not think so. Do we take a portal QB for emergency QB? More likely. CJH has been recruiting and developing these guys for years, I believe we'll roll with them. I believe it's Merk's job to lose.

Great question. I’d love to see Merk progress and get his shot. Also, I wonder if the entire Nico situation kinda pissed the boosters off and they’re willing to pony up for a legit qb just to stick it in Nico and company’s face. Second part is just wishful thinking.

Simply cannot go with only two QB's, recipe for disaster. Might as well try for major upgrade if you are shopping in the portal. Pretty much no big game experience in the quarterback room at the moment and you owe it to the players that are there now to get best available QB. The two now on roster may turn out great and I hope so but got to build the depth for this year.

I agree we need another qb for depth, but not necessarily to start. We need Gaston Moore back

You can't go into the season with just two scholarship QBs that gave played a total of 20 snaps of college football. I'll be happy with Merk starting, but at the same time we need to add an experienced guy as well.

I’m guessing they get a two year proven guy but make it a legit competition giving all three guys a chance to win the starting job. And next year we bring in faizon Brandon and start the process of making him the guy moving forward.

Boo Carter is going to come out and line up in a wild cat package, Merk to his right, Matthews, Radarious Jackson as stacked wide outs and a two tight end set with Jack Van Dorselear and Ethan Davis. Syracuse is going to soil their shorts.

I agree, after watching the Spring game replay, I don't think we have any QB's at the moment that can win more than 7-8 games next year.

If Gaston Moore came back, I think he would start over Merk and Gmac.

Well, the problem is glaring. As you stated, we have 2 QBs, and this ain't hopscotch. If whoever the starter is gets injured and is out for the remainder of the season, then we are down to a single QB. So, what happens if the injury bug hits again and he is out for the remainder of the season? So, do we have anyone on the roster that was a QB in high school that is familiar with the QB playbook? That's a guaranteed recipe for disaster.
