Come on, CTV! Earn your freaking salary.

We suck. Our pitching sucks. Hitting with RISP sucks. Fielding sucks. Can’t throw out base stealers.

If we were better at any of those things, there wouldn’t be so many teams ranked ahead of us.
you trying to put @CAVPUT out of a job?

West Virginia enters the rankings. I'd like to see how they fare against a little better competition because they look to be playing really good ball.
But that’s really the true measuring stick isn it? All those ACC teams teams that made the CWS looked great and then went “0fer against the SEC”. There are some really good teams with really bad records in our league……other than Mizzou.

Notes:

> Tennessee's closing schedule sucks. Playing at both Arkansas and LSU while hosting Auburn and Vanderbilt in between stinks. No two fanbases (at least of meaningful size) hates Tennessee baseball more than LSU and Arkansas. I'm not fond that the SEC sent us to not only Ark and LSU but also sent us to Alabama for consecutive seasons. Vols have 15 conference games remaining. (halfway through) Sign me up 9-6 now.
> Past UT opponents and RPI
#19 Arizona
#30 Xavier
#31 Florida
#48 Oklahoma State
#54 South Carolina
#55 ETSU
#73 Samford
#118 Tenn. Tech
#173 North Alabama
#184 Saint Bonaventure
#189 Radford
#196 West Georgia
#204 Rice
#218 Queens
#225 Hofstra
#226 Alabama State
#267 UNC Asheville
> ETSU game has now dropped to quad three meaning they are the Vols only Q3 or Q4 loss. It is a Q3 loss because it was a home game. A road or neutral site would make it a Q1 or Q2 loss. ETSU dropped despite going 3-0 against visiting WCU (#136). The Bucs have a second game in JC against VTU on Tuesday. Win or lose, they likely move back to Q2. Definitely if ETSU wins.
> Bellarmine is 9-26 and #262 in RPI. We will likely drop a spot in RPI before this weekend as a result. Auburn is playing at #75 Jacksonville State and should they win they will likely leapfrog UT.
> Kentucky avoided the sweep with a 15th inning walk-off double error on Saturday at home against Texas. Had they lost, They would come to Knoxville with a 6-game losing streak. The Wildcats host #123 Miami Redhawks on Tuesday. Miami is not a bad team as they have solid wins against ETSU and Bowling Green.
> Texas A&M us now up to #49 in the RPI. I don't see that they received votes in USA Today. That will change should they win the series in Arkansas this weekend.
> Auburn goes to Texas for a bigger than expected series.
> Georgia goes to Vanderbilt for Thurs-Saturday series. Can UGA prove their Arkansas series win was not just a home field fluke. The bulldogs were swept 2 weekends ago at Texas and was beaten by 10 runs in game 1 against Arkansas. They play a midweek game at Truist again hot GaTech team and I think they need to exert themselves in that game to maintain momentum. If they lose to Jackets, they are staring at a 1-3 week.
> Clemson is just abiding their time until series at FSU on May2-4. Sure they host Louisville this weekend but they should win that at home. The Tigers do have a favorable ACC schedule
> Coastal Carolina conference schedule is really soft from this point on. They have some tough midweeks again Wake and Clemson but the rest of schedule is soft. Even if they do well, I don't see how they could stay in top-10 RPI
> LSU is interesting. They host a strong McNeese (#26) and Alabama this week before Tennessee comes to town next weekend. Alabama had no business losing series to Mississippi State. Are they going to have two subpar weekends in a row?

They’re coming off a sweep at Houston, and they are leading the Big 12. I don’t remember which one, but I seem to recall one poll had them around 15 in the past week or so. I am surprised that they are just now getting into some of the otherpolls, but I’m biased. Earlier this season, they were the second to last team to be undefeated, with Tennessee being the last team.

I'd love to see a regional in Morgantown. I think the atmosphere would be off the charts.

They are a well coached team which makes up for a relative lack of talent.

I would not like to see them in Knoxville

WVU hosted a regional once, in 2019. I watched (and one of our kids was a manager), and it was a zoo. Last year, they lost to UNC at UNC in the super regional. They were real close to Omaha.

I looked it up and the top price that WVU charged in 2019 for a ticket to all the regional games was $60 bucks, making it very affordable.
