Has now decided it sounds good to say they requested Heupel change his offense for Nico. Really? A UPS guy knows more FB than Josh Heupel? That should really make other coaches run from bringing this **** show in.

I know there’s a dialogue out there about the offense & NFL. I content CJH hasn’t really had NFL talent other than Lock, maybe Hooker. Did EdO system at LSU make Burrow? No. Joe Burrow made Joe Burrow. Their OC that year, Joe ?, has been a bust everywhere else in the NFL. Did Cut make the Manning boys or vice versa. If it was Cut, why didn’t Clausen, Ainge, Martin or Daniel Jones have success in the NFL? Who besides the Manning’s have been successful QBs that Cut coached? Why is Mahomes so good but his college coach has been so bad elsewhere until he found Jaylon Daniels?

I can’t see if a QB can’t make the reads fast enough in a college system, he could go & be trained to secede in the NFL where the must be faster due to athletes, especially DBs & Lbs are far superior.

There’s a lot of truth about “it’s Jimmies & Joes, not Xs & Os”.

They did. Hell the entire offense had to be watered down for the dude. Let’s be real, he wasn’t very bright and that was evident at the end of the Arkansas game. We may have well huddled every play because we had to slow everything down just for him. Probably why we got so many false starts, rush to the line and try to call a play to keep Nico from disaster.

I don’t understand the narrative that our offense doesn’t prepare qb’s or wideouts for the nfl. What college offense does? I would think nfl offenses run option routes. If simplifying things for young inexperienced qbs is wrong, i don’t want to be right.

Not sure how a system was making him over throw open receivers.

Nico’s dad s**t the bed on his behalf, knows that his kid will likely be playing at a Mountain West school for less money, and is trying to save face by making outlandish claims.
I mean Heupel has multiple qbs in the nfl from his time as head coach and OC. The system works. His kid may just be too lazy or too dumb to pick it up.

If Nico didn't like the system, why did he come here in the first place? He had a good look at it in 2022, with Hendon Hooker, during his recruitment.

.... and why did he go all the way through spring practice? He could have entered the portal in December and transferred wherever he wanted and had immediate eligibility - including within the SEC.

The Iamaleava camp is doing public relations damage control and trying to spin a narrative that Nico's skipping practice on Friday wasn't all about money and greed .... but that just doesn't make any sense.

They were well aware of the talent on the roster and the system that we would be running. If those things were truly the issue, he would have transferred after the CFP loss like Carson Beck did.

The only thing that makes sense is that they wanted more money, and they thought that Tennessee would cave in to their demands.

This is the truth

Nico and his dad are getting killed in the media for their stupidity and this is nothing more than trying to do some damage control.
The mud slinging will get worse probably the more desperate they get. Best thing is for this kid to distance himself from his father as far as business going forwards. I’m not sure Nico is completely innocent either but his dad has proven to be a complete moron; the “agent” they had is distancing himself from this fiasco now as well.

The whole enchilada is toxic. On top of the toxicity, in all honesty, can any of us say Nico performed well against real competition in the SEC? Aside from the running game, Vols offense was less than mediocre and Nico looked pretty confused out there. As many here have noted, the defense and the running game carried that team last season to the CFP. And I would argue it happened despite Nico.

Nico Iamaleava will probably end up having to accept less money than he was scheduled to be paid in 2025 under his NIL agreement with Spyre, and his dad will file a frivolous law suit against Tennessee/Spyre over something .... it's just a matter of time.

People like this never accept responsibility for their actions.

His best performance IMO in SEC game was in the 2nd half vs Alabama. He was either terrible or average in every other SEC game other than Vandy.
