I support what Heupel did and think it was in the best interest for the team and for College football.

Unfortunately, this late BAIL by Nico (Kiffin 2.0), could cause this season to be a bust. You basically flush the work from Spring practice on offense and start over from Square One.

Looking at the schedule, given the current QB situation, there are no lock wins (with the exception of the patsy games).

I hope people are patient this year and don’t start calling for heads to roll if this season goes bust. We could take a big step back this year.

The Vols SHOULD be ok with the classes JH has pulled so far (8-4ish)

However, I don't think anyone expected this situation to happen, so it did throw a wrench into things.

JH hs said we will add a QB, whether it's a starter is yet to be determined.

I would be highly disappointed if we roll with one of our scholly QB's to start the year.

I feel like if we end up not having a great record it still isn't going to be a bust because at least we got guys experience that want to play for UT and not The Monopoly Guy. We can build off that next season.

I predict Bama takes a step back this year too. Georgia should be as good as ever. Florida should be better. I think we'll go 1-2 in those games and then lose a random game to go 9-3, which is nothing to complain about. Ofc I could also be completely wrong. Who knows

any prediction without knowing what the roster looks like is stupid.

8-4. but we will be the kind of gritty team that can beat anybody

Honestly, I just wanna see our offense have some life again.

I am so tired of screen pass after screen pass with a wacky overthrow thrown in occasionally.

I know I should never complain about winning, but man I got so tired of winning every game ugly year.

Every week had the ever present risk of the need for being rushed to the cardiac ER.

Ready to just put out foot on teams throats again.

The portal just opened. Let's see what happens before we go all BVS.

UT's O line looked like the real deal from what I could see of the spring game videos. 5* book-ends and experienced interior.

There is no way of predicting anything, but I doubt the Vols have a bad year. I say the Vols will either be in the playoffs again or just outside, going to a NY day bowl. Not a bad year.

The Vols will get a decent QB out of the portal. With a solid O-line, that QB will be better than we expected.

Go Vols!

I agree. I think we may be able to sneak one out against Florida only because it’s a later season game and won’t be so deathly hot and they have a BRUTAL schedule. They may be kinda beaten up by time we run into them in November.

What game was Nico the difference maker last year?

Even before this situation unfolded there was positive buzz about Merk’s development over spring.

If we are able to lean on the defense and run game again like last year the schedule is still very favorable.

Meh we were a 9-3 team at best with Nico this year.

I think we will somehow survive the inevitable 8-4. Lose to the big 3 and either OU or Arky.

Wasn't so long ago that an 8-4 season would have been some silly fever dream. Now it's just kinda, meh.
Agree. We caught some breaks last year w/ UF and OK being "off". Compared to others in SEC, we have a manageable schedule, but if UF and OK now have their QBs, we'll have a tougher time of it. If our D resembles LY, and you have to figure our rushing attack will be good, along with better WR talent, I'm not sure there will be too much fall off from Nico level of play LY. If we have a competent "game manager" at minimum, I'd expect a 8-4ish type season, w/ higher probability of being 7-5 than 9-3.
