Said it wasn’t about money but that Nico Team became disenchanted cause Tennessee promised to change the offense for Nico. This is spin the Family is using to wipe the embarrassment off their face.

First, Nico committed in summer of 2022, right? Heupel’s offense was scoring pretty big in 2022. Why in hell would he want to change? He wouldn’t.

Second, The offense would have been great it Nico had been the least bit consistent. Nico was the Primary reason the offense struggled.

TJ don’t know what he’s talking about.

I heard that 💩 he was saying, how it wasn’t about money, but offense and players. What offense did originally sign to play in? CYA from the family which he supposedly knows. Funny how all of the sudden all these mediocre at best, radio people are experts on the ins and outs of the UT football program

Brandon Walker, of all people, destroyed this narrative with one tweet. If Brandon Walker is the voice of reason….

Those like Dave Ugagaleile were in the families ear to shop around. Makes more sense with the Miami talk and Matthew’s cold feet. The 2022 had Hyatt, we don’t have a Hyatt to make the QB look good. Along with Hooker not panning out would be cause for concern, so there is some merit from their view.

They still come out looking bad because what coach in their right mind is going to completely change their offensive scheme to appease you unless your name is Lamar Jackson? You didn’t have an issue with the offense vs teams like UTEP or Vanderbilt. You just didn’t execute deep balls the entire season. Could’ve easily averaged 40-45ppg had you just been accurate. They just keep digging the hole deeper 😂

No putting lipstick on the pig. He’s going to a worse program, with not nearly as much talent around him, and for what will be less money. His daddy screwed the pooch and anyone with any squishy grey stuff between their ears knows it.

The family’s friends can try to rally behind it all they like, they are just making themselves look like fools.

Hooker’s career was basically dead until Heupel got him. Then he blows out a knee so his rookie season is a rehab year. Who really thought he’d be a NFL starter last season?

Nobody as a starter, but taking Teddy Bridgewater who was a HS coach at the time to be QB2 is concerning for how Hooker is viewed.

I don't get why everyone keeps saying this narrative is "spin?" This was reported during the winter transfer window as being a reason of concern by Nico's camp after getting blasted by Ohio State. Then it was brought up a few days ago with these contract negotiations. It's not like this is some narrative we hadn't heard previously made out of thin air.

The truth is, Tennessee's offense was less effective from a schematic standpoint last year. The offense also lost alot of senior talent. And we didn't quite do much in adding skilled position players. There may be some validity to it. That doesn't mean money wasn't a factor. But both could be true.

Sign a veteran qb who is a great presence in the locker room and on the field? Someone who could help your young qb coming off a major injury?
I can’t believe Hooker didn’t immediately start over an all pro qb.

Also had a sub par qb, could that have been the biggest issue?

They wanted $2 mil more PLUS more players. Sounds reasonable

He was signed in case All Pro QB got hurt in the playoffs. It had nothing to do with presence in the locker room, but who could win if Goff got hurt.

Makes sense. Hooker still has a way to go, needs all the practice he can get. Just tired of the narrative that the Lions thinks he sucks. Why even draft someone who you know will sit a year rehabbing? From what I hear from my Lions fans at work, they love that Hooker is there.

Just look at the video of the over throws and missed TD's. There are maybe 8-10 of those. If he hits those, give him another 400-500 yards and 6-7 more TD.
That would be around 3k in yards and 25 TD.
You do that-come get you some more money.
We address the Oline in the winter portal.
Receivers? Possible gripe but you didn't hit the ones you had. What good does faster incompletions do for you
