Wake up Vols......

Right.

At this rate, Josh Heupel will never win 10 games in a season, beat Alabama and Florida in the same season, take Tennessee to the College Football Playoff and finish a season ranked in the top 10. Hell, it's been so long since we accomplished ANY of those things, I've given up hope of them ever happening for us.

Indeed, it is time to wake up.

Gosh, do you think that will ever happen?

Take away the QB position and drama.... The recruiting and portal has to take a step up with this staff.... The new is wearing off.... Seen this story before.... Recruiting needs to be top 3 SEC.. Oline development/ WR development
We aren’t gonna recruit in the top 3 in the SEC. That’s not feasible. I am not too worried about the OL. The WRs however are a different story. They have gotten worse since Burns left.

JMO…

At some point Danny White is going to feel the heat, for giving coach Hype that long term contract extension. Especially in the department of recruiting.

Not to mention the conflict of intrest, of their personal relationship.
lol. No he isn’t. The only way that would happen is if all of a sudden we turn into a 6 win team again. That’s not happening. You are just flat out wrong.

CJH contract runs through 2029, I'd say he's easily earned that.

We will not tolerate truth and logical thinking on this forum.

Don't fret over the trolls. They feast when the few time opportunities arise. I am surprised that Texas fans are so worried that they have joined the Georgia, Florida, and Alabama fans in their fear.

I wouldn't call it "not feasible" but at the moment, it is daunting. Keep in mind we were in similar predicaments in the 1980s but then Majors and Fulmer starting having consistent 10+ win seasons and eventually Tennessee became a "go to" recruiting place until it fell off in early 2000s.

It just takes winning and right effort. Keep in mind we are just now getting over the scholarship reductions from Pruitt. I think that is something the OP isn't considering.

Honestly, I don't have confidence that this coach or staff can take that step. There are some positions that either aren't developed well enough and/or that have poor evaluators. Let's not forget that Nico was THE choice at QB for Heupel coming out of HS.

What Nico was last year was after 2 years of coaching and development. Would year 3 have been better? We'll never know. If Nico flops at UCLA, it will still make some fans(me) question Heupels eval. If he balls out, some fans (me) will question why our staff couldn't get that kind of performance out of Nico. No win situation. The next couple of seasons will be very interesting for Josh Heupel.
