Probably north of 4 million. With all the ticket sales and talent taxes that were added because of the hype he brought to the program. You pay employees less than the value they provide if you’re into profits and all that.

He didn’t play like one of the top QBs in the country because he wasn’t one of them.

He’s a mid tier semi serviceable QB and would fit well at somewhere with lower expectations but still willing to host a diva and his financially focused family.

No hate towards the young dude. Hope he has an enjoyable college career and gets a good degree in a field he enjoys. However in order for him to demand 4 million a year, he has to play like one of the guys making 4 million a year.

Can we please stop talking about this family? He’s gone! We have players transfer in all the time from other schools. I wonder if they obsess over them like some in here do?

Outlier opinion. Kid not mature enough to show up when he needed to shows a lack of maturity and it was evident in his performance. Not worth a million IMO.

I mean, he wasn't worth what we were paying him, but I'd have been fine paying him what he was making had he and his camp not been the way they were. His performance so far did not warrant what we were paying him, but at least he could have possibly earned his pay this year with another year under his belt. But we all know now where the motivation was. He certainly didn't want to be here. And was only concerned about his pay.

Despite the exit and that he didn’t exactly blow it out of the water on the field, he did put UT back on the map for top notch QBs and the PR hype from the media surrounding him so there is that value for sure.

While Nico was not perfect, he was a solid QB last year and he had all of the tools to be an elite QB. Just having a second year starter with playoff experience at the helm would have easily been worth $3 million. I believe he would have gotten it had he just done his job through the end of spring camp and jumped into the portal afterward. No showing practice the way he did forced Heupel’s hand. We had to cut him loose in order to prevent others from doing the same. It was a critical error and ultimately value suicide. His value isn’t close to what it was just a few weeks ago. It’s a shame.
