What I witnessed Saturday night brought back memories of 9u baseball. Batter makes it to first. Then steals 2nd with no resistance or just give him the base. Then next pitch or 2 the runner steals 3rd with no throw or no one covering the bag. Then no one takes a 2 strike approach when hitting. Just take 3rd strike when it’s not a fastball. Or swing for the fences. Man how baseball has changed.

Welcome to the board, observe the rules at the top. Happy posting!

I thank God every day that our son doesn’t play for a team that runs like that. He plays 10U and they hose runners regularly, to include throwing behind them.
Of course, our catchers are good enough to do that and they have the trust of the coaches to do it.
Aggression at the plate is EXPECTING to hit, especially with two strikes.
We just ordered a new ring case yesterday because his doesn’t have any more room.
I don’t think the Vols have that luxury this year like in years past. They don’t seem to be as aggressive. Hopefully that will change as we get closer to postseason 🤞

I’m not finding the rules. Did I break a rule?

Well I just found the rules. I don’t think I broke a rule. Im a little confused. I just compared what I saw in Saturday nights game to 9u baseball where base runners advance with no threat of getting out. Oh well I can promise it will not happen again and you can delete my post if needed. FYI we gave up 10 stolen bases Saturday night.

Who bashed a player. I was just shocked that the defending national champions would have a philosophy of letting base runners have free bases. It’s usually not the norm in 90% of baseball except for 9u baseball.

Yer sounding a little paranoid.
🤣🤣🤣🤙🏼
Those guidelines were developed as the baseball program started its upward trend and posters from the football, basketball and recruiting forums started showing up. “The Legions of the Miserable” as Johnny Majors affectionately referred to our more “battered vol syndrome” fans.

I will say you came pretty close to it by suggesting that our team is equivalent to a bad 9U team. But I get it. I don't think Frank's philosophy is going to change. The pitchers just have to do a better job of not letting guys get on first so they can steal the other two.

Kentucky is just the type of team that will take advantage of Frank's philosophy. I've never agreed with it either.

There is nothing wrong with this post because it is all factual. Ole Miss did the same thing in their series vs the Vols. Every walk puts the runner in scoring position b/c the pitchers do a poor job of controlling the running game..

Just like I caught heat earlier in the season by saying this team lacks quality depth in its pitching staff. The further this season goes, the more these facts are confirmed.
