Do you think Merk or Gmac would have entered the portal? If so, could we be waiting for the portal to close before bringing in another qb for fear of them leaving?

If you mean had never played his stupid games, then I’d say next year Merk or Mac would’ve transferred out. But after his stunt before the o&w game there was no mending that bridge. He was donezo

I don't want a fella that skips practices and ghosts his teammates and coaches.

I'm glad he's gone. Time to move on. He's not the "one that got away." He's the crazy ass ex you move to another state to get away from.
Yeah, who would want a girlfriend or wife who was always looking to move on the the next thing.

No, they didn't and Nico was expected to be here. If they were going to , they most likely would have entered the portal in December.

These two QB's are gonna work with the wide receivers during the summer on getting the routes down, being on the same page. Aguilar will most likely do the same thing, but he has a bigger learning curve to deal with. Merklinger has the advantage as far as time in the system, so he probably will be QB1 at the start of the season. MacIntyre will have more time in the system so he will most likely be QB2. If Aguilar can pick up the system fast enough, he will be, most likely QB2, and MacIntyre will be redshirted and put on a diet to put some weight and muscle mass. If Merklinger struggles as QB1, Aguilar most likely will be pressed into service sooner than Heupel would like. Let's just hope all 3 of the QBs come in and play lights out from the git go.

If Nico had stayed, I would have hoped he had a Heisman year and the Vols rolled through their schedule. But, Nico didn't stay, Nico jumped into the portal and headed West. Now I don't hope anything bad for Nico, not at all. I wouldn't cry either if he doesn't have a great year. I just better not see him dropping dimes on wide open receivers 50 yards down the field.
