$20-$40m rosters?

Let's be real. Where do all these donors actually get their money's worth and ROI from these contracts? Some of these roster payrolls are exceeding the actual profits of the Athletic Departments.

Everyone jumped on the bandwagon, but now you have to recruit your roster atleast 3 times a year and go on an a** kissing tour the rest of the time. CJH was the first coach to revolt and he just did what others have wanted to do. The Law of Dimishing returns is gonna kick in with these coaches and collectives. Nico was a good case study. He took free money and provided no expected services that he was supposed to honor.

CJH just got to the point with Nico and his low work ethic and said eff it, I'm not living like this. It may be a slow roll, but other coaches will follow suit. And the market will crash.

Seems like a crazy amount of money, but with NIL deals exploding, it’s not surprising. The top programs are just in a whole different league now. It’s shifting college football into more of a pro-sports vibe, which has its pros and cons.

Nothing good about it

I wasted years warning that it would be unimaginably hard for everyone - Tennessee included - to compete at the highest levels with the big bucks at Ohio State and Texas. Or even Oregon. Nike and oil/mineral money were never going to be outspent.

Well. Buckle up. Because no matter how much money you put on the table, the biggest schools will always be able to put down more.

And now that recruiting is almost solely about money, it isn't going to get better. UT will always be one in the pack. Never leading it.

I think the big donors will stick around longer that the many little guys that contribute to collectives on a monthly basis.
