Jakobe Thomas in the portal

This one puzzles me...seemed like he was going to get a decent amount of playing time in what should be one of the better defenses in the SEC for his final year.
Could have really showcased himself to the league scouts.

Hopefully, it's that he did get passed up in spring camp and we have better dudes.

Well, he got more money to go somewhere else. We're gonna have to spend Ohio St money if we want to stay competitive. If not, we won't. Pretty simple.
And if we do spend the money, I might just stop watching sports, period. The mercenary side of Pro sports is why I have essentially stopped watching all of them.

But at least the pros have contracts which the players adhere to almost 100% of the time. Here? I don’t know if these kids actually have contracts. I would assume they do if they are getting NIL money

It could be his agent's way of getting what he wants. He would be a guy who could return based on being the front-runner for his position in the fall. Have a good season, and your value increases versus starting all over with a new team. He could also have a firm offer before entering the portal, poached.

Why ? He’s good here

Because the courts decided the players are in charge now and can demand whatever they want for their “labor”

Don’t worry, @SCOrangeman will be here shortly to lecture us all on how this works

If they adhered to the contract, why would they ask for an extension, or request more money or they hit free agency? It happens all the time. "They got more money than me, so I want what is mine"

I really don't care. I don't have the time to watch a bunch of spoiled brats act like idiots.

lol yeah right , u will still watch but just complain more
Seriously, I don't. I used to be a rabid braves fan. I might have watched 5 innings of pro ball in the last two years. I used to watch every NFL game that came on. I watch three games total last year. I watched the Superbowl, but literally to see what the commercials were. I detest the NBA, even though I was a rabid Lakers fan when I was at UT. Believe what you want.
